How to check pop growth?

Iam almost embarassed to ask, but here it goes.

In which menu I should go and where should I move my cursor to check current pop growth for a planet? I have basicly tryed everything and Iam 95% there should be a current pop growth tooltip somewhere.

I don't know about DA, but there's nothing like this in the planet screen or details in DL. Though I assume if you get a planet colonization event that produces a planet pop growth bonus that would be shown on the planet details screen.

Your global pop growth is listed in the civilization manager under the stats & graphs tab in the abilities section, but the percentage listed there can be a bit deceiving because it includes both your racial pop growth and in game pop growth from aphrodisiac and/or the percent or two you may get from anomalies. Racial pop growth is treated differently from in game pop growth. In game pop growth is limited to 200M per turn. The racial pop growth bonus is the only thing that allows you to exceed the 200M/turn limit. So assuming you have the 70% pop growth bonus you could get 340M/turn growth.

Thanks for the indepth explanation of the current pop growth system

I would really like a tooltip into civilization manager screen/planetary screen which would tell me exactly what is the current pop growth for a planet. Since this aspect of the game has been changed so many times, this tool tip is greatly needed in my mind.

Hi!
... what is the current pop growth for a planet.

Write down the amount of pop on the planet.
Press End turn.
Check again the amount of pop on the same planet.
Subtract, divide, compare to existing formulas etc. as necessary.

Voala!

Isnt that bit too easy.. We lazy gamers want a tooltip!

Or atleast SD should put one for the sake of game reviewers. They arent usually the most brigtest of the bunch

Sorry, but I play this game without a calculator and pocket protector.

My method is a simple eye test. If in 10 turns I don't physicially see my population growing on the minimap in a certain area, I lower my taxes.

IMO, if you keep your focus on steadily increasing your tax revenues, you'll naturally do what you can to keep pops growing b/c they are the tax base.
