Windows Explorer crashes when Window Blinds is loaded

Hi guys,
Can anyone confirm with me that Windowblinds will crash the Windows Explorer when the trial period is over?

Whenever the WindowBlinds is loaded using skins other than the 'Windows Classic' or 'Windows XP', the Windows Explorer will crash. However, this does not happen when I chooses either the Windows Classic skin or Windows XP skin (even with WindowBlinds loaded).

You can probably argue that I would have run and tested the application in full trial period long before this. However, the problem is I tried it long long ago using ver4.xx and that was also before I upgraded my IE to version 7 plus.

I just want to be sure that the problem was indeed due to the trial period ended and not because of the application itself before I go ahead and make the purchase.

FYI, when WindowBlinds unloaded or when Windows classic skin or WindowsXP skin is selected, the crashes goes away (does not happen).

Can someone confirm this or is there any other solution to it? I have already wrote in many times asking for extension to my trial period but it seems the emails go un-noticed.

The OS I'm using is Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 and IE 7.0

Thanks.

I would think the reason you are not getting a response is becuase this isn't going to happen.

I've never ran the trial, but the purchased version of WB has never crashed IE7.

Hi KiloKrash

I am thinking of purchasing the software this time seriously but I just want to be sure the problem is due to the trial and not something else.

Well guys,
Sounds weird right? If only I can have the full trial version for another test..... just to be sure...

Seriously, I am hoping for some other solution than to buy the full version or re-install my Windows XP just to be sure the problem doesn't lie with the compatibility issues... Can someone help me on this?

60 days is 60 days.

If you had bought 4.6 long long ago, you'd have 5 also

Also, if you had purchased Object Desktop: Network you would have had all the betas as well as the fully operational programs. Of course, you would still have to purchase an upgrade each year, but even I, with a $750/month pension from the government, can afford $34.95 once a year to keep my subcription active. Some people just love to take, take, take, and never give. Stardock pays its programmers and pays its bills, and still manages to produce great products at a low price. If you like WindowBlinds, at least have the decency to PAY for it.

besides, if they can't get it working for you they will refund

I have the same problem!
Everything that was suposed to be modified by the skin turns black and the computer hangs too much just to open a simple window!
When I "aquired" the software (WindowsBlinds v5.0) I thougth that the problem was a result of the lower end graphic card that i had (Radeon 7000), but a few months ago I bougth a Radeon X700 (AGP) but I end up in the same situation!
Maybe I'm running a x64 version WindowBlinds (if there is any)!
Sorry for bad English!
Hoppe you reply!

This can mean many things. Please post your System information from the WB config.

My Windows Explorer crashes at least once a day with Windowblinds loaded I've just kind of got used to it. I have the paid version and all currently updated.

It's annoying as hell. I have searched forever for a fix to this. I must say it has gotten better with the more current updates. Would be great to get a fix though.

Tell you what....you buy me a Radeon X700 and I'll buy YOU a legal WB5....and even one for your mate.

Fair deal....

Basically just multi tasking. It seems to happen more often when multiple windows are open. It has been doing it so long that I have just gotten used to it. Windowblinds is worth the problem.

Here are my system specs-

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 5 (5.1 (build 82 x86))

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

You have one monitor in total.
