Internet being very Choppy

Hi, I'm new to the forums and wasn't exactly sure where to post this, so please forgive me If I'm in the wrong spot. For some reason after I switched my screen resolution to 1074x768 my internet has been choppy when I scroll up and down. I have Firefox, I just installed it today, I was sick of Internet Explorer but I'm not sure what the problem is. I thought it would be kiddy stuff to figure out what this is, but I feel just plain dumb for not knowing how to fix it. I love Comps and stuff, and I'm starting to learn lots of Computr languages and learn how to program. I have even tried smooth scrolling and all that other stuff in the options menu, I just can't fix it.

To get rid of it click on View/Toolbars and un-check the Bookmarks Toolbar.

I tried that, it doesn't work. I seen that post, but it won;t work on mine. It's still choppy no matter what I check or uncheck.

Edit: nvm, just saw it was already tried.

I need to ask, is the internet choppy with IE?

What version of FF?

What makes you think it's related to Stardock?

It was choppy with IE as well.

I'm using Version 1.5.0.7 of Firefox

I don't know, I was looking for forums where people knew lots about computers, this seemed like the right place.

Perhaps it would have been best to post in the Personal Computing section then.

But anyway, maybe your video card just isn't as good as it should be? My aunt's computer is real bad on scrolling too, she has some onboard video on a crappy AOL optimized pc.

No problem. Just want to make sure where to go.
Does everything run fine when you revert to a lesser resolution?

Z's right. Start there....

Check your mouse scroll settings. If you haven't re-booted since making the resolution change, do it now.

Yeah, I tried the scroll settings too. That doesn't work. I'm wondering if maybe it's just a problem with the computer itself. But then again, it just sarted doing that, I don't know what else it could be.

did you reboot?

Yeah, I rebooted several times after trying different screen resolutions, but it's still choppy when I scroll down. It's almost like the page is taking a picture, but a picture when you change the setting to make a camera take 10 pictures at once.
