Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

You may wish to upgrade video and audio drivers, your installed versions may be too old to work properly.

GeForce 4 MX cards do not meet the game's minimum requirements, but it should at least function playably if you get the latest drivers from nvidia.com (they still support the 4 Mx series AFAIK).

If the main menu is still stretched way off one side (I assume that's the problem you're having?), you can try this.

- Navigate to My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 in windows explorer (names will vary if you're running French windows).

- Open the file Prefs.ini in notepad. A few lines down from the top you'll see the lines:

DisplayWidth=1024
DisplayHeight=768
Fullscreen=1

- Change them to:

DisplayWidth=1280
DisplayHeight=1024
Fullscreen=0

- Then try running the game. It should give you a undistorted fullscreen window at your desktop resolution, though on a GF4MX, I can't say as to how good your performance will be.

I've seen this issue in other fullscreen games where the fix was to adjust the monitor's refresh rate.

.. Or the user had a program like Windowblinds running and didnt selct the game to be ignored by the program.
