ObjectDock hidden behind Maximized Windows

I know that the tabbed docks have the ability to reserve space so they won't be covered by open windows, but I'm using the normal kind of dock. When I had been using the free version, it had always been fine because it kept the space reserved for the windows taskbar, even when I had set ObjectDock to hide the windows taskbar. Now I'm using Plus and I can't do it. How can I get windows to stop occupying the bottom margin of my screen, preferably without having to purchase/run more software?

Don't know if it's different with the paid... but in the free - I had the bar set to always be on top, then used OD to hide it, which keeps the space.

Which sounds like what you did with the free also.

Did you make sure the bar was set to always be on top prior to hiding it?

Yeah, but it still doesn't work. I remember, ObjectDock crashed once, and when I rebooted it it had reserved space. I just can't get that back.

save your theme, then go in a clear the cache - that will make OD start in default

Set mine (OD+) to "Normal Z-Ordering", Checked box "Mouse Activation", works now. If a window covers it up, I bump the screen-edge and there's the dock. Works whether I'm using "Autohide" or not. I set bottom to no autohide and full transparency so just the icons show all the time. Side docks set to autohide. Note: sometimes side docks don't appear when I've got a maximized window up...sometimes they do, but when I had Z-Order set to Always on Top, they wouldn't appear when the edge was bumped...sometimes...still working with it.
Luck.

I don't think I was clear. The ICONS still show, but the windows take up more space than they should. I have a special area of my wallpaper that I want to be able to see at all times. Here are some screenshots:

How would I clear the cache?

in your 1st shot up there (not the one showing the imageshack page) where is the problem?

I see space on the right
I see the window stopping at OD on the bottom

There is no problem. I'm showing you how I want it to look. The windows in the first one aren't maximized.

okay - i get it now.

Have you checked Corky O's site - you can find it under Sites at WC - I don't have WC access at work, so can't provide a link.

He has quite a few article/tutorials on OD+ - there may be something there that may help.

if you did that, cleared the cache, and went through all the setting on that dock for 'reserve space' (or similar) then, I'm tapped - I don't have the plus version so I go no more ideas.

consider this a *bump*

I'm sorry to join in w/o adding any help. But I too have the same questions. I'm using OD+ 1.3. And I'd like to use it to create a "Sidebar" type thing. I see that if I create a tabbed dock on the side of my screen I can set it to reserve screen space.

Works PERFECT. EXEPT, with tabbed docks I can't have a totally transparent background and there aren't as many options for zooming/glowing icons in tabs.

I (and I think castironpants) really want to have a standard dock reserve space not a tabbed dock. Is that possible?

i have the completely opposite problem i have an od (plus if it matters) on all four sides of the desktop and it reserves a ridiculous amount of space id rather have mine like his second pic. the only one that does this is the tabbed one i have on the bottom of the desktop which is set to something like "drawer" or something like that
how do i get my maximized windows to actually maximize and just have my od on top of it or maybe on bottom i don't care which just so i can actually maximize.

nevermind i restarted od and it fixed the problem but i would like to know what it is that was causing that
