Upgrading version 1.0 to 1.31. How big of a download?

I'm buying GalCiv2 today (hope Best Buy has it) and plan on playing it all this weekend. One question though. How big will the download be to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.31? I only have dial up and it would suck to have to wait till Monday to downlaod it at school.

Thanks guys.

If you download the complete file from the Downloads section it is about 42MB.

That is the safest way, since there have been problems in the past with SDC downloading corrupted files (or the files getting corrupted somehow during the process). The download might not be quite so large going through SDC, but it would still be very large - which would increase the chance of having to go through the process again if anything went wrong.

And if you download it to your hard drive first, you will always have it in case you ever need to reinstall.

Unless I missed something, but the patch in the download area patches the game from the 1.0 retail version. SDC is useful if you need less files, meaning that you have a version closer to 1.31. Which isn't the case.

So when patching the retail 1.0 version, using the patch or SDC doesn't change anything about the size of the download.

BTW, if you plan to by the game at BestBuy, be sure that it is a first hand copy. If it is a used copy and someone has already registred the associated serial, you won't be able to play the patched game.
