StyleVista install fails due to DWM and says the beta has expired

Hello,

I just signed up for the StyleVista Beta. It emailed me the link to download, which I did. I am running Vista RC1. When I attempt to install though, it gives an error that DWM isn't running, then it gives a second error stating that the beta has expired.

I found the other thread talking about the DWM error. It looks like this beta is severly out-dated (beta 1 timeframe) and hasn't been updated since. Therefore, it incorrect reads that the DWM service is not running. Here are my questions:

1. Is the beta going to be updated again before Vista releases?
2. Why are you still allowing downloads for the beta 1 compatible version seeing that nobody in their right mind would still be running it?

Thanks.

Don't get out much?

There's a bunch of people out there not in their right mind.

We're lame.  We are working on an RC1 version.  Microsoft implemented into Vista the features that were in StyleVista so we're having to re-imagine it so to speak.

Ai, bugger. That's not the first time that thing has happend is it? Didn't something similar happend to Allways Trust or whatever it was. I suppose it's a bit of a gamble sometimes.

So Microsoft got there first? So what... I still can't change the color of my TaskBar. Nor can I get a Windows XP theme. What happened to the Windows XP theme? how do I get it back?

Microsoft did not get there first (StyleVista came out before Microsoft added similar features).

As for the Windows XP Style, Vista does not include it.

WindowBlinds will allow you to use that style though once we release the Vista compatible version.
