Can not download purchased product

I purchased the Argos Suite 2 days ago - I'm becoming totally frustrated with trying to download this. I have tried over and over again. No matter what browser I try - it will not finish. I tried in the day - afternoon and 3 am. So far today I have spent most of the morning trying to download this .......its only 16 mbs..this should not be such a problem. Even though im using dial-up connection , this is rediculous. So far this AM it was downloading at 5.3 kbs/sec and I left the room for 5 minutes and come back to a " finished " download. Yeah right - I knew right away that was not happening. It said finished 5.6 mbs ....the zip on my desktop said " empty, corrupted or spanned zip "
Ok , so I opened Stardock Central....I asked in forum about the download manager ...no answer ...I cant find a way to enter this link there . The download manager is an empty box. So I added the link to the browser in SDC. That downloaded at a rate of 3kbs/sec and said it would be over 2 hours. No problem..I dont mind waiting 2 hours. But I do mind wasting time and having to redo the same thing over and over. This time when it reached 8.5 mbs...it said IE cannot download from Stardock.com - connection has been reset.

So another wasted morning and I still have nothing to show for it.

If there is a problem and your aware/working on it - acknowledge it. Dont let me keep wasting my time trying.

Fairry, I thought that I saw some discussion about your problem on IRC. So I think it's being looked at.

Have you opened a case/ticket/whatever with stardock? support@stardock.com or https://www.stardock.helpserve.com ?

At least then you can track what's going on.

Sorry you (and the others) are having such a hard time downloading this suite, and being a fellow dialup user, I feel your pain...... but unfornuately there's nothing a WC Mod can do about it. Have you contacted sales@stardock.com ?



I had a Rainlendar(Cygnus) that was uploaded on Monday to WC - It came out the same day as boops " Cynus " WB. I needed to fix the month margin so I updated it 2 hours later - here it is Friday and it still sits in Moderation Queue. Ive never had any update sit in mod queue more that 24 hours - if that long......


err... it's not in the queue.


The fact that I have seen no more than 4 to 6 members logged in for the past few days and 600 visitors ...hmmm ...and not a moderator in site.


I don't think that list applies to folks that aren't visiting the forums at the time.

All they had to do was respond - im very reasonable when I know im being heard. I will wait for days if I know there will be an outcome.

I know that you have no control over this. Im sure you know how long it takes to download 16 mbs. But to get up to 10mbs and have to start over at 0% time and time again is frustrating.

Im not sure to be honest , noone has said if thats just a forum count - but its been awefully quiet. Seems its easier to just not log in these days. All week its been a struggle to get past page 1.

As you can see below, I have purchased the Argos Suite.

Using the link provided to download, it keeps stopping before or upto 5.9 MB while downloading.
I have used (2) download managers and have (tried) to download it manually, with no success. Total of about 25 times for all. That is extreme for 'me'.
It's like it times out after a certain amount of time. If I had DSL, it probably wouldn't be a issue.

The major problem for me is I'm on 56K and the download link provided doesn't have (resume) support. So I keep trying to download and when it stops I have to start all over again.

Needless to say, I have been trying to keep my cool, throughout this ordeal.
Out of all the products I have ordered, I have never run into this problem.

Solutions, if possible:

1.) Please, fix the download link, so that it has (resume) support. Please don't re-send the download link. I already have it and it's not working for me. 'Unless' it's another download link that I can try.

2.) Send the zip file directly to me, so that I can download it through my e-mail.

3.) Refund. (Last resort, if the other two options are unexceptable). I hope that this doesn't happen. I have been satisfied for years, until now.

"Please" don't ask me to buy the CD from you. I shouldn't have to pay more money for something that I (should) be able to download.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you",

Your email pretty much sums it up...so we all seem to have basically the same problem.
Too bad noone responded by now. I thought forum would be faster - i've had emails go unanswered a few times - but that was awhile ago. Ive had no reason to write to them - usually the forum brings answers.

By the way Stardock sent me a link via email to download Argos. I received it this morning. Anyone who has purchased Argos and I also receive permission from Wizop's or others that it is okay I will post this link or send email as the case may be. This is email from Mike H. at Stardock and it probably has my receipt #in it. So.. I'm hesitant to take it upon myself to do that without Stardock's approval. I wrote Stardock Support Tues. 09-05-06. I got my response this morning. So hang in there everyone I think a solution is at hand for Argos downloading.

Yes, that was what I was thinking also Bichur. Wasn't sure how such links worked, but knew enough to wait for appropriate permission. I also don't intend to send this link to anyone via email without appropriate approval. Gee it's amazing how fast 4 moderators and Zoomba are suddenly hanging out. Hi guys. I sure hope Stardock's solution for Argos downloading is arriving soon. Its a very nice suite and I'm sure all the regulars are gonna appreciate it.

That would be the best option.

Big D/F , posting a link would allow anyone access to the suite without paying, I know your just trying to help. I still like to support the skinners,and would like to continue to do so - but purchasing/downloading should be a breeze. Not a Typhoon.

Hi Fairyy~. Within 3 mins of my post there were 4 moderators and Zoomba all online in the Forums. So I think if there is a solution for everyone they'll know about it before I do. Anyway, I hope you get your purchase soon. Did you receive any email yet from support?

It needs to be made available via SDC with a resume. I agree. SDC seems to be the safest way to download AND archive Argos. But it doesn't show under "MISC/Purchased"!...

Well - I got someone to download this for me - split it into 2 Zips , only because my email limit is 15 mbs and the file is 16mbs , So they were able to zip all the important stuff in one zip and the 2 extra logons in a second zip.

So much for that - unfortunately no matter how great this suite is - it will only remind me of days spent being pissed off. Life goes on...

I will gladly email you this Theme if your email can handle at least 12.7 mbs. I doubt their will be a resolution to this before Monday.

My brother downloaded it for me and he is clueless to wincustomize so he divided it as best he could.

The Argos Theme itself is 12.7 so that cant be split.

I'll mail it to others if you mail me a copy of your receipt.

Hello Fairyy~! I'm one of the unfortunate guys who've been trying to downloaded the 16,66MB of Argos suite. I'm willing to attach my receipt, so that you can e-mail me the file in 2 or 3 zip files, but I do'nt have you e-mail.

Sorry about that - i went to update my profile to include my email addy and was sidetracked. It should be there now. I know it sounds picky to ask for the receipt - i know you have had as much trouble as I have - just click on my user id and my email should be there now .

Hopefully your mail will accept 12.7 mbs - its a Theme Manager file and thats the size of that part.

Glad to see somebody finally got this resolved, however offbeat the solution. In my case, I got up to 16.5 MB downloaded once before the stupid thing started over (on my umpteenth downloading attempt). I agree that it seems like the dialup customers have the problem, but that shouldn't make any difference (except in dl speed). I contacted Stardock Support on Friday, but all I got was an automated response telling me that someone would address my problem in up to two business days. I suppose that means Tuesday. Sigh.

How do I get SDC to recognize that I have Argos? I purchased it and downloaded it from the store through firefox.

SDC recognizes my other premium suites, but not this one.

PANDO may allow you to send the entire thing. I'm just starting to use it myself, and I can send entire video's with it.

Spoke to SD yesterday . . Argos is not supposed to be in SDC. There is no way to "get it to show up".

I hope that changes.
