All system fonts turned to bold after uninstalling WB

Hi,
I've uninstalled WB and all my system fonts turned to bold. I wanted to change them with the display properties in Control Panel but it didn't work. I can't change the texts of warning windows for example. I've reinstalled WB but it didn't change anything.
How can I get my original Windows XP Standart Fonts back ?

: Please see the following screenshot for the location to change this setting:

W/O WB:

Access this dialog through the "properties" in the desktop right click context menu. This is under the "Appearance" tab. Click the "Advanced" button there.

If you have WindowBlinds installed, you will then also need to click the "Other advanced controls" button in the bottom left, which will direct you to the above dialog.

Be sure you've selected the appropriate item and you'll see the setting to make that Bold is in the bottom right.

I seem to have the same problem, though I just installed windowblinds on a fresh install of xp...

No amount of message box font unbolding, skin changing or windowblinds reinstalling seems to have any effect

You need to change all of the fonts, not just Message Box.

Not sure if this will work or why it did work for me but i had this problem a while ago - drove me crazy trying to fix it - See where it says font size under appearance tab - if its on ' small ' just move the slider to medium - then back to small again....this way the apply tab will not be grayed out anymore...then just hit apply and ok - then reboot. All my fonts were back to normal after this.

Meowy: I already made sure everything had bold off but it wasnt that...

Fairyy~: Good call, that (almost) fixed it!

Update: Problem isnt entirely fixed, there are still a few fonts that are bold when they shouldnt be...

Got exactly the same problem on 2 of my boxes after uninstalling wb, checked and changed every font to a different font yet still it seems to overide the font settings and keeps using an all bold font, thanks for ruining 2 boxes.

Do you by any chance have a zboard keyboard?

No matter what I do, change WindowBlinds skin, alter ALL the fonts under the Advanced options, etc... My Outlook ALWAYS shows bold, Tahoma 8 point font.

How can I revert my Outlook 2003 fonts back to Century Gothing 10 point???

I just noticed that the Window buttons also are 8 point Tahoma. The Advanced options don't allow for setting the font there.

I also just noticed that if I modify my fonts on the Advanced options page, the changes are lost at the next reboot!!!

...and once I have all my fonts looking as I like, how can I apply the current fonts to the loaded skin?

Has anyone got a definitive solution to this?

If not then it really is a case of some sort of legal action being administered as such software, especially as a trial, cannot be allow to permanently 'damage' a system.
Stardock are responsible for producing a solution.

Hardly encouraging in a trial version to have such a blunder...

re: #5

sometimes picking 'large', apply, then 'normal', apply clears up some that didn't clear up the first go around

legally define permanently damage

If the trial was causing this then this thread would be much bigger.

The reason I asked about the zboard keyboard is because one version of their software incorrectly overrode one of the default OS font registry entries & when uninstalled would cause the desktop fonts etc to turn bold.

When this thread was first created, we double checked our installer and uninstaller and found no problems.

Not using any zboard.

Tried other methods mentioned.

What actually fixes it is DELETING Tahoma Bold from Windows>Fonts

It appears to be assumed that you switched to Windows Classic or Luna before uninstalling WB, but if by chance you didn't, that might have contributed because some WB skins 'skin' those fonts, too. If that was the case, I'd reinstall WB, load a skin once, then reload Windows Classic. Check out all the problem fonts with Classic loaded & if all's well uninstall WB again. If they're still not right, edit the skin you last loaded in SkinStudio & change any settings in it for Fonts for Classic Widgets back to the default Tahoma 8pt, save & apply the skin, then switch to Classic again & re-check the fonts.

After that, I'm stumped.
