HELP!! DX wont startup with windows!!

ive always used windowblinds and ive owned dx since i bought WB but never really used it since there were no skins i found i liked for it, but i really liked q's new theme and i have it all the way i like it now but everytime i start windows it doesnt apply the theme i just get a gray desktop and my  windowblindblind skin. i checked off the box that says run at startup, i treid checking it in both client, and, builder mode, but nothing works. could it be the skin?? im lost and ive searched all the menus for any other things to try but nothing! please help as i love this skin!

right click desktop > properties > desktop tab > web tab > make sure lock desktop items is unchecked - if you have no web pages in the box check, then try checking 'my current home page' and see if any thing else shows up.

you can also try locking desktop items, applying, then unlocking/applying to see if that wakes it up.

I haven't tried Q's (wrong resolution)

could it be the skin??

I don't believe so. Just tested it and the theme loaded fine for me (log off/log on). This was tested using Builder Mode, though.

I have a problem - every time I start up windows , it says that DesktopX was not closed in the right way. so I wanna start form scratch or system will try to load my Desktop. I press to load my desktop and it appears fine.
I have IconX, WindowFX, WindowBlinds running also.

Try closing DX once without shutting down. That should save your settings and on restart DX should work fine.

I would also try clearing the cache as CorkyO pointed out. This has solved many DesktopX problems for me. If I had the link for instructions on this I would give it to you, and yes, it really does clear up many DesktopX problems. After the cache is cleared then startup DX and load your favorite theme and everything will most likely then wotk just fine. I'll see if I can find the link since, knowing how to clear the DX cache is essential.
