My main problem is realy crappy, i just finished purchasing a copy of windows blinds after trialing it for some time, once i installed the full version i go to change my skin and nothing happens it just goes to windows classic skin, iv tried atleast 4 diffrent skins and nothing changes, can someone please help me

I think some of you don't understand how unstable version 5 (all) can be


I'm sure on different systems there may be instability.
I'm fortunate - I've had no issues for 3 years (except that one time when my Throbber broke).

Did you install as normal - download via IE,FF,etc and install or through the Stardock Central Browser?

I'm not allowed acces to WC where I am, so I can't look.

At WC - click 'sites', then search for 'pictoratus'
go to his page and he has an article where he was gathering info on video cards/drivers.

something keeps wanting to ring a bell saying the chipset may be an issue - but I have been wrong before. May be a different chipset.

Your dates are from an older version and may be causing your issues. Try and update WB5 to the latest version through Stardock Central and see if this fixes things.

Click on "Show pre-release versions" at the bottom of the screen to get the latest update showing.

I may be wrong Hankers, but I think you only get pre releases as a full ODNT subscriber.

Then again, I can't tell by the profile page at SD.

Even if you can't get pre release Stardock Central will get you the lastest release version.

hey,

just got back on... gotta work, ya know.

i'll check to see if i am up to date on version 5... i paid for the whole package, i was hoping to be able to make use of full suites and such.

i'll do that search for "pictoatus" and see what i can find out... thanks you guys, i would love to get this working, it looks cool, but i'm not much of a tech-head so i should have known i would get hung up somewhere.

used to use Aston... great desktops but no "window dressings". this looks much better.

Trust us, your dates are old.

pre release will get you beta version.

just in case, down at the bottom of SDC, you might want to use the autoarchive feature.

ok,
used autoarchive and updated... didn't see my grafix info on pictoatus and didn't see it. i have to jump over to my fantasty site and enter in the draft we had this weekend... i commish a league.

i'll let you all know how things work out with the update... thanks again guys, it's great to see that there is support for this software... i think it's great, i guess it just takes getting used to.

and later that week...

hey hanker and bichur, tried loading a basic suite (copperdeck II) and it worked just fine. will play around with some others later today.... thanks for the help, the update to the latest WB seems to have helped and now it's just time to mess around and see what i can learn.

Not for me. The hardest part is trying to use them in the same day.

However, it you run a lot of open app, you can use the per application to skin each one with a different skin.

Marcusdwight i also suggest you get the free program bicher suggested CCleaner and run the registry cleaner to make sure there is nothing left of aston in there  I had StyleXp [poor choice on my part]before WB5 and was having similar issues and when i ran the ccleaner it found a bunch of stuff left behind from StyleXp Since then no problems
