Adding Player Pictures

I was woundering if you can use custom images as your Race Picture (the little portrait place) and if you can have a your own icon as your race.

Preferably with out a mod cause i want to metaverse.

Yup you can & its called the Custom Race

Seriously all you need to do is add the relevant images into the following locations: -

\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Logos - For Race Logos

\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Portraits - For Race Image

awsome thanks a bunch this was exactly what i was looking for.

what file formats are supported and is there a size thats recomended or will it resize?

well just put in a jpg and a gif to no avail.

They must be in PNG format, ideally 256x256.
