Error after applying theme?

I have Windows Blinds 5.0 (legit)

Whenever I try to install a theme, even the ones that come with it, the theme starts to apply then seems to just halt. Some of the background colours change, the startbar goes away, and my computer acts very sluggish. I've tried to let it sit and complete, but it just does nothing. I know my computer can handle the themes, im using a 1.66 core duo, 1gb of ram, and a x1600. My resolution is 1200x800, would that cause the error?

Please help.

Have you tried uninstalling Windowblinds in SDC and then reinstalling it?

click system information on the left

i only installed WB yesterday and i have the same problem....
here is the system info:

a few months ago i patched my uxtheme.dll using this tutorial http://users.on.net/~gravitymx/ux.htm

so im guessing that this may have something to do with it as when i go to display properties and want to apply default XP skin i get a windows 98 looking desktop
i 512mb ram, P4 2.4 gighz and a 64mb video card but ive run other types of skinning programs that have all worked fine.

any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you need to restore your uxtheme.dll, either from back-up or your XP disc. Patching this file is not without it's dangers
