Certain Mods in the Metaverse

Can I use custom race pictures and logos while playing metaverse games and be able to legally submit them? or will the metaverse rain the fires of hell upon me for trying to use any mod, no matter how insignificant to game play?

Just thought I'd ask in preperation for getting the game as I'll have it in 2 weeks

You can use any 'Graphics Only' mods in the Metaverse games. Race images and logos are fine to use, as are the 'ship packs' available for download too.

Most of the 'Tech' mods will cause a metaverse game to e declared void however.

you can use mods in the metaverse, however it will be called "Cheating"...

So I can actually use ship appearance mods in the metaverse to? now that's pretty sweet.. see I have no actual desire to use tech mods and whatnot.. but after having to replace some of my favorite enemies in MoO2 because when custom making a race I usually took their pictures.. well that got annoying..

but I can use ship appearence mods and it will be okay with SDC mods/devs hmm? that'll be cool.. now all I need to do is go find a ship appearance mod hehe.. hmm

Basically, you cannot use anything on the metaverse that changes anything at all in the MetaverseData folder. So just sounds and images are allowable, really.

if you want to use pics and logos just put them in the race file in gfx. gfx\race
and the metaverse will read it without the cheating flag. if you want ship models or new improvements you'll have to mod the metaverse data, which will turn on the cheating flag.

sweet.. thanks for all the info.. I just wanted to use a custom race logo and portrait and all seems to work in the end..
