War with the Arcean Empire

The Arcean Empire: Largest Empire, Second most technologically advanced(i hold the lead there,) large military force, and at war with almost every other civ in the Galaxy, but kicking butt. I, there loyal ally, am stuck in a wedge- or a growing wedge, and it looks like they are starting to burn out even the Altarians who were most powerful. The Arceans got a head by colonizing anything and everything that would support life. They hold the largest amount of votes in the galaxy.
They also have a divided empire, from what i can tell a sizable portion of it lies far east, far away from my worlds. These seem to be there core worlds, as the worlds close to me, though numerous and powerful, were more recently colonized. In between them and there empire is the Alterians, though they have other holdings also.

I have come to the realization that I need to somehow go to war with this great ally, to win. I don't hold the infulence, or the planets for a diplomatic victory. But, this would change if I were to invade there planets closest to me. The vast majority of there fleet is in the east, since they don't have to mess with e currently. The biggest ship guarding there planets might be a frigate. If I take those worlds, I'd pretty much win the game. Unless the Alterians sweep in on my hard work and take more planets, then I'd beforced to clear them out also, but thats another matter.
Also, most of my trade comes from the Arcean Empire, though I am starting to change this by trading and improving relations else where.
Also, it turns out i have a needy friend in the Thalans, and they have begged me once or twice to come to war against Arcean, but haven't for obvious reasons.

I plan to build my transports, called Troopers, and send them in to take over worlds not held by ships(I still don't have the fleet to remove all the ships) Meanwhile I'll send smaller fleets to take care of, and pickaway at there fleet. If I get a good start things will pickup and swing in my favor. Ortherwise- i'll just be waiting for the Russian winter, and about a Trillion soldiers to come and wipe me out. Again, they have battleships, but the bulk of there fleet is busy, and with 8 civs going at them i just don't think i could loose, with this plan, but if they mae peace with everyone i am history. Sorry for rambling, just considering my options. What would you do? If I don't act soon my military will go from competitve to medocire quickly.

This may be overly obvious (you may have disabled this victory or just not want to win this way), but just in case it hadn't occured to you: you can win an allied victory by helping the Arceans take everyone else out. If you and your allies are the only ones remaining, then you win. Again, I apologize if you had already ruled out this option, and if you have your other plan sounds like a good idea to me.

No, I had considered that, I am sorry I did not make that clear. Yes, I have considered working with the Arcean empire to eradicate everyone. But, the Altarians throw that idea out the window, though they are weaker in almost every other respect than Arcean, they have managed to keep there ships up todate, and able to kick some butt, though not fully eradicate the economicly superior Arcean fleet. If I fought the Alterians, I'd have 7 other nations at war (well, 6 minus Thalans) with me. The problem with the Thalans is, they don't have the power to bring the war to Arcean, so the war is in ther efront yard, though there holding on- barely. It also appears Arcean has a large infrustrucure, several civs have mentioned that they have built starbases to 'spread there influence'. I'm thinking if I can knock a few of those out as well, It'd hurt them.

Don't pay attention to other civs say another civ has a large number of influence starbases, they probably don't, sometimes on my games other civs say that to me but when I search every corner of their territory, I don't find many/any, sometimes the civ doesn't even have a large territory or any starbases of any kind at all.

You should put all your resources into overdrive to help build up your military.research,Treasury,trade,everything!DONT STOP BUILDING UP EVEN WHEN YOU DECLARED WAR AND THINK YOU CAN SWEEP 'EM OFF WITH YOUR CURRENT MILITARY BUILD!I was once in the same position(morally i was evil and allied to the drengin who were 1st in everything except treasury and economy which were my strong points and the drengin were at war with all the 8 races and kicking butt too cuz like 5 of 8 were wimps)My economy was supercharged by trade and selling techs to minor races.i.e.80 bc for 5 months to 10 months(or more).and I was also planing to declare war on the drengin and get the jewel of the galaxy, a class 27 planet.I built up and sent small fighters and other worthless ships with weapons and two of my frigates in a 2 fighter,1 frigate fleet in to their territory to slow ships down and buy my transports cover and time and then when my transports took 3 of their worlds I sent My Main fleet and sent them rampaging through the drengin empire to take out as many ships as possible and that was only the 1st of 2 waves.(there were three but the first was pre-positioned)I took eight of the drengin worlds in a single massive blow. My empire was a tiny 3 world slice of the galaxy at one of the corners and
sourrounded by the MASSIVE DRENGIN EMPIRE.I got everything except the the jewel and 3 other planets one of which was their homeworld.but a few months later the drengin expanded into the snathi(minor race)dispite their cuteness factor.and then they wiped out the torians and took some of the yor worlds.maybe I shouldn't have set them on incredible intelligence.the drengin kept growing until they rivaled me again and demanded tribute i refused and relations worsened but I was safe guarded cuz of my allience with the altarians.But I still lost later on.(the drengin got new friends ,arceans and they wiped me out together.their technological lead was too great.BUT I had a good run.I did allright considering i am only 12!

Dude it doesn't matter how old you are, I played M rated games when I was 5 and I look back and I did pretty good (escpecially considering they were horror games, still don't know why my ma thought they were appropriate for my age).

I agree with larger galaxy sizes . I would like there to be gigantic size. More room if you want to play against all races. Playing evil accesses alot of neat wpns i would also like shields and armor to be included in the unique technologies for the evil races. I play Kshm mod mostly i downloaded b-5 which is ok but I prefer kshm mod cause of the access to all the hulls and stuff. Also it would be cool if you could hail an attacking fleet just a thought.
