Problems with WB

Installing on new laptop.. having problems

I previously bought WB for my desktop and I got a new laptop today and I'm trying to use it. However, when I load WB the background on the application isn't all there. On the skins area when I click on Win XP style, normally there are the options to use the skin, etc., however I have none. That happens on that skin and the classic skin as well.

I installed and rebooted my laptop, and when it came back up, my computer was skinned in a skin that I never told it to use. So when it booted up, it booted up in a random skin.

This has never happened to my desktop, so why is it happening to this laptop? I read on the FAQ that its ok to use it on more than one machine, but (this part got me confused) that only one machine could be on while its being used?

Was there an update to WB to cause these problems? Yes, I legally bought WB because it's well worth the money compared to StyleXP, so I'm not trying to crack it or anything.

Please help. <3

Edit: Oh and when I try to skin my laptop with a default skin, it goes to the Classic skin, and when I try to get it back to WinXP, it's stuck. This is really annoying because I really want to skin this laptop.

It could be an issue with the video drivers for your laptop. Please post the System Information from the WindowBlinds Configuration screen.

Having no options on the classic & Windows XP Style is perfectly normal.  There never have been any options on the preview.  Use the apply link on the left of the window.

WB cannot pick a random skin, so it is likely the skin that started up was either set by the installer originally, or you picked it by mistake and did not realise you had done so.

If you have turned the themes service off then the Windows XP style skin will not apply.

Even though that might be true, when I try to revert to my normal skin (WinXP) it goes to classic instead of WinXP. Really annoying. One or two of the skins I have don't skin the taskbar (Ecliz is one, forget the other). It works fine on my desktop however on this notebook it's a bit off.

I never ran WB, other than the installer, or picked a skin when that happened. It was randomly chosen.

So if I have my desktop and laptop on, both using WB, it shouldn't cause problems correct? That part of the FAQs confused me.

Your desktop, your laptop = shouldn't be a problem.
I'll have to reread the EULA - I know it changed.
Before, it used to say you could only be using one system at a time, but I think it changed to - you have to be the primary user.

There's a EULA/ReadMe in the WB folder.
