BIG PROBLEM, BIG TIME!

PLEASE HELP!

Hi everyone, im new here and I'll cut to the chase.

I installed windowblinds on my laptop today and I was trying out some new skins which was fine, until I tried to change it again to a pretty green one. Now, everything started to change- the taskbar, background etc...but it was slower than last time to change it all and it looked like the computer had crashed. (I gave it a while to see if anything would happen first but I gave up at the end and switched it off manually - which I really hate doing)

So it booted up fine, logged on (as admin) but it was VERY slow to display the desktop, taskbar, icons etc. It was just black with the mouse loading all the time. I opened up taskmanager to see if anything would happen but it looked like it crashed too. So im all out of ideas - if it fired up, I would've uninstalled it by now or used a restore point, but I can't get to it because of the problem.

So the only way I can use my laptop at the mo is to log on under the guest account and it fires up perfectly, no problems at all - but the catch with the guest account is, that you can't unintall anything etc.....bugger.

PLEASE HELP ME! IM AT MY TETHER HERE, AND LOSING MY RAG.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH PEOPLE.

(BTW, sorry guys if you saw two threads posted by me with the same title - it said I couldn't post the thread the first time round, so I tried again and then it posted twice!)

As administrator - cant you go into the Windowblind folder and delete the WB thats causing the problem ? If I run across one that causes issues _ i just delete the blind - or is this a theme or suite you downloaded ?

Reboot and switch to a different skin and see if you still have the problem. Over the years I've gotten in the habit of rebooting after I change skins and in my opinion it helps.

Ive always had to do this too - I noticed that sometimes installing a skin while i have FF open on WC - object bar will sometimes freeze up while importing and cause just what she described. Ive had to shut down manually - but after reboot its usually fine.

yes it was only one skin. every other skin I tried worked fine. But now I feel slightly paranoid about installing new skins in the future. I'll try and be more careful I think.
