I get this too, my solution was to install the game while in Safe Mode. This works for many, and worked for me, but it has failed at least one person.

OK, so you can't install it with the retail version, but I got Stardock Central, how on earth do I Download it without having to pay twice?

You need to register the game to your account here in order to download via SDC. As to being unable to register, see this thread first: http://browser.galciv2.com/?forumid=162&aid=122873

If that doesn't solve it, contact support@stardock.com.

As to the bad discs, there were some that apparently were defecitve. If you can't get a working disc by returning, or want to save the trouble, you can just get the game via SDC.

I just purchased GalCiv2 at Walmart and I think I have a bad disc. My computer locks up when I insert disc 2 during the install procedure. I read the above posts but have been unable to download the game from SDC.
