1.2 bugs and annoyances

I've been playing Thalan on the evil path this time...

- one of the Thalan medium hulls have wrong component placeholders; component appear in different places (not where put) and then cannot be removed

- Mind Control Center says in the description that all planets eligible for defection defects almost instantly, while for me it didn't change anything; I was trying to take over some planets by influence, but still it took many turns after the 'rebel' icon appeared, before they actually defected

- I've got a graphics problem (with some components mostly, but not only) in the ship designer screen, but maybe it's due to my PC overheat (have some high temperatures in my country recently) - I have a screenshot somewhere

- deleted design stays over games!!! this works like this since always - I deleted the design in one game and it still appears in the next game, where I have to delete it again...

- ship selection sometimes doesn't work correctly if you have ships stacked or in the spaceport: I've seen 2 ships selected at the same time in spaceport for example, or I double-clicked on 1 ship to upgrade it and after the upgrade next ship in the stack was selected, but the one I've just upgraded wasn't

- influence points too precious in the trade screen; I used to trade influence in Galciv I, but never do it in Galciv II as I would buy 0.1% of someones influence spending tons of fresh techs and other goods; the same with starbases and planets; I couldn't buy a new (no modules installed) starbase even with 20 technologies and thousands of credits; and buying a planet - this option should be discontinued never managed to offer so much to buy even the most crappy planet

- now in 1.2 it's a bit too difficult to achieve cultural victory and to take over by influence; it used to be too easy now it's too difficult; it only makes sense on very dense galaxies with lots of planets; maybe it would be good to scale the influence importance with the galaxy density?

Have you been using betas in the past with your current install of GC2 ?

I installed all the betas and official versions from 1.0 -> 1.2 and many of my problems went away after I did a fresh install of GC2 and patched it up. If you have used betas give it ago. I recomend this since I dont witness example "deleted designs dont go away" problems etc.

Iam also bit confused about the ship selection. Its not very streamlined in my mind. :/ But thats just a feeling cannot say for sure as I have not tested it.

About the influence points and planets, it seems to be working well I think. Why would you give up influence points or, worse, planets for only a little cash or few techs? You would make someone pay dearly for their added power. If you are at war sometimes you can force them to give you planets for peace. Also, I don't know why you feel its sos much harder to win by influence. I tend to have to be careful not to just win by influence in all my games. Honestly, I wish it would be a little harder to win by that method. It could just be that I am not playing against civs who tend to research diplomacy and influence bonuses (or that I am killing off those who do). What difficulty level are you playing at?

I've had the mini map of the inf raduis's blur and mix into what looks like a messed up nes game. Same for the graphs on the map. Only way I could restore it was to reload the game, which is a pain in the rear with the load time.

It has happen about 30 times to me alreadly, most just the graphs.
