ya ive looked online for a while how to get the cheats to work for the gme and i dont know how to do it....
it says -->Start the game with the "cheat" command line parameter. For example, a shortcut to start the game might look like this: "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat. Then, enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function

You just hold down clt and press r or wahtever simple.
Or do you mean you cant add the cheat thing? Go to the shortcut, right click, select preerties and there it shold be then add the cheat line.

ya i did that but it still wnt let me it says"specified in the target box is not valid.make sure the path file and file name are correct.

Type this:
"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat
That should work.

You can't use the standard shortcut icon created by the game's installation (at least, I couldn't). I had to create a new shortcut and change IT'S properties to make the target work. I will say this though, some of the cheats are useful, but they can sometimes take the fun out of the game. You can become the most powerful race with just a few keystrokes.

Hence the name cheat. It's fun every once in a while to just have your will forced on the galaxy simply because you can spawn scores of battleships at a whim!
