Another AI mishap... Diplomacy Suggestions...

Well I am currently playing a game with 9 other races on gigantic with painful difficulty. Right now the Torians have about 1/8 of all the planets after the initial colonization. I have about 15 planets and I am about the same size as everyone else except the Torians who are currenly owning all in everything. I have tried setting up an alliance with a few other races my size but no matter what I do I can't get them to like me enough. In my mind it would be ideal for one of them to ally with me to stop the threat of the Torians, but no in thier mind... I will not be able to survive and niether will they.

So my Diplomacy suggestion is that we should be able to say things to the AI players that we should ally to prevent the threat of another race, and to be able to say things along those lines...

Just stay on good terms with them. When certain criteria are met, such as you getting a decent sized military or they being attacked, they will form an alliance.

Or when you are ready to attack the Torians if you have a decent tech lead you can bribe some of the other races to attack with you. Of course that doesn't mean they will put much effort into it, but the Torians will have to protect that flank too.

I've noticed the AI will warn you of another empire's threat, but I've never actually seen them take action against it.
"Hey, the torians are spreading. You should do something if you don't want to become a part of their empire."
"okay, let's fight them together."
"Nah,you go ahead. I'd like to be a part of their empire."

The AI will sometimes ask you to join them in war, as long as you are friendly with them. I've noticed the Arceans do this at least twice in a single game.
