Stardock Forums Updated

Good things are happening

https://forums.stardock.com

The Stardock Forums have just received a complete redesign.  If you are not reading this post via forums.stardock.com then click here to view the new layout.

We have listened to the voices of our users and customers and have taken great strides to improve our forums.  For those of you who are used to other bulletin board systems you will find that our new layout is modeled a little more closely to other forum software programs available which will make navigation more similar.  For those who are used to the Stardock Forums you will notice the main view has changed where we are now showing the difference Categories available and in order to view posts you need to click on the corresponding category.

Many other things have changed as well and we have many more changes to come.  And in short time we will also be migrating our other forums (WinCustomize, GalCiv2, TotalGaming, etc) to this design as well.

Please navigate around and let us know what you think.  Enjoy!

47songs : This forum post is for the new forums at forums.stardock.com, not for the wincustomize forums. Please post issues about the Windustomize forums under the 'Site Issues' category on forums.wincustomize.com.

When I click on the above link in T-man's first post ~I am taken here https://forums.stardock.com/ [The main page] ...and am logged in.

If I click any link in the forums such as this one for example... ["Computer crashes when game starts"] the url shows in my browser [yes, I.E. beta 3] as: https://forums.stardock.com/index.aspx?forumid=274&aid=122769&c=1 which shows me as not logged in...

yet, if I change that "1" at the end of the url string to "0" ...I am logged in.

like this....

I'm also perplexed, as to why I would have that extra part of the url string. I'll go check through my SDC browser, and see what happens ...I'll report back shortly...

I'll send this off to T-Man to take a look at. But we've tested the current versions of IE, Firefox and Opera and can't reproduce this error. At this point I do appreciate you reporting the issue and we will have a look at it, but further issues with IE 7 (beta any) should probably just be emailed to me and I'll archive them. When the first stable IE7 is released we'll have a look over the archived issues and make sure none of them are present.

Ok ...posting this thru SDC with no login problems. However, I do find I have yet another interesting problem ~in that the 'return' [or 'enter'] key does not seem to work here [thru SDC browser] Smileys not happening either, all that happens when I click a smiley is the page moves down a tad, but no smiley appears. ...SDC just updated itself as I opened it. I might just go off to bed I think, ...and worry about this tomorrow. <-- typed that one..

I oftentimes need to use [CTRL]-M to insert breaks when using SDC. But that might be the Wincustomize Discussions, not the SDC Web Browser.

Andrew, I AM using the stardock forum to try to post, but because of the error message I have to go to the wincustomize forum to actually post this.

The error message comes from the stardock forum.

https://forums.stardock.com/?forumid=166&aid=122744#953025

You can see it here at the bottom of this shot. This is what I got after I tried to post. There WAS text in the post.

47songs : I'm sorry but we cannot reproduce that error with firefox 1.5.0.4 (several people here have tried). We'll continue to investigate.

Thanks, Andrew and stardock! I appreciate it. I'm going to try to post this one from the Stardock forum while on IE. If no one else is having this problem maybe its at my end.

It worked on IE. I'm going to try this again on FF.
