Declaration of Independence: http://www.ushistory.org/Declaration/document/index.htm

Constitution of the United States of America: http://www.archives.gov/national-archives-experience/charters/constitution.html

I keep both in my laptop bag; lest I forget.

Yes, Happy 4th of July.

Though I live in Georgia and we have a dangerous mix during this time of the year:

1)Rednecks
2)Beer
3)Explosives

Good news is there is always alot of duct tape around to fix any "missing" fingers.

I want to thank SD for the title of this post. Too many people forget the purpose of the day because we call it Fourth of July or July 4th. That crap never happens with the 25th of December.

My kids know the real reason for Independence Day, Memorial Day, and Vetran's Day. And they're not just days off and picnics. I think some people (kids) forget or don't know. Check out We the Kids for a nice take on the preambl;e to teh Constitution: http://tinyurl.com/qpvl2 It's a keeper

God bless America

And to all my friends here that referred to today as 4th of July, you are still my friends. It's my pet-peeve, not yours.

230 Years Old. Happy Independence Day. I have to remind the kids it's from the British NOT from Aliens.

Do the Brits celebrate this as the day they got rid of that pain in the neck colony across the pond?
