NLC problem

NLCs don't upgrade invention matrixes or discovery spheres. Which is a pain, but not a big one. However, it's screwing up the AI too.

I just had a game where the Arceans aligned neutral AFTER they had invention matrix already, so they never built any NLCs.

Ya, the devs made it upgrade from the Research Acadamy instead of from the Discovery Sphere.

We had discussed the issue back before it was fixed to upgrade at all. And it was discovered that by making Discovery Sphere the upgrade path it worked just fine. The devs apparently didn't take the hint, but used the Acadamy instead.

You can make the change in the PlanetaryImprovements.xml and they will upgrade the correct way, even for the AI.

Since the NLC is a branch off from the Acadamy, it will upgrade from anything after that point if Discovery Sphere is used for the Upgrade Target.

Yeah, but I can't do that in a metaverse game or it'll flag it as cheating won't it?

about that alternate upgrade path..

did you check to see if it works for the autosellect when researching? if it gets buggy there it would explain alot.

I have never had that problem, I always research xeno ethics then on to the academy thing and just upgrade them from there. I always have NLCs within a few turns of choosing my alignment.
