Need Help!

with applying the themes....

I just got Window Blinds today. I am trying to figure out how to use it. When I apply the skins the wallpaper/backgrounds that go with the skin do not show. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Here is my system info:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer is currently in 16 or 24 bit colour mode and WindowBlinds needs to be in 32 bit colour mode to use per pixel borders. Please adjust the colour depth of your display to 32 bit colour. If this is not an option, then you may want to see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware.

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

(EV700) 1 is attached to Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation)

It also asks me about the color. I can't find any option in the control panel to change it to 32 bits. All I have is 16 & 24 for the color. :( Any help would be apppreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

-Julie

To change your display to 32bit, right-click on desktop; left-click on "properties". Your display properties window will appear. Click the "settings" tab; on the right, middle portion of this box, there is an option "color quality". Change to 32bit here.

You should have WB Config up to change your wallpaper settings. Double-click the WindowBlinds Icon in your system tray. Click on "basic settings" in the WB Configuration utility. Make sure that "apply any wallpaper supplied" is checked in the "enhanced desktop elements" section of the "basic settings". You can add any picture folders you want by clicking the little tools icon on the right lower corner of the "wallpapers" section.

Hope this helps.

Just to add, not all WindowBlinds come with Wallpapers. Usually, you would have to download it from another source.

Yeah, I did that. I went to the "color quality" box and there is no option for the 32 bit. All i see in that box is 24 and 16 bits.

In WindowBlinds configuration, go to 'Basic Settings' and under 'Enhance Desktop Elemets' tick 'Apply any wallpaper supplied' then 'Apply Changes'. Please note that most skins do not come with a wallpaper, you have to apply your own.

Your graphics card does not support 32bit colour. Time for an upgrade

thanks for letting me know. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing the 32 bit option in the "color quality" box. I guess I will have to wait then and upgrade my graphics card later. Thanks again, for the fast response. I really appreciate it.
