GCII Website Backup??

GCII Website Backup??

Does anybody care anymore??

Q> Where have all the Dockians gone??

Guys what the hell is going on with this website? Is it just me or are there others out there just as annoyed with this place as me..?? You guys come up with a fantastic game that is a joy to play and then back it up with a website with more errors than any other site i have known! And to top it all off any errors reported are just ignored! For instance (known errors):-

Metaverse: Now not only does the scoring side of the game suck in GCII but you guys seem to have forgotten what a HUGE thing the MV in GCI was. It single handily kept people playing your game for MONTHS and you rectified any/all problems wit it instantly. Here it seems as though you don't really give a **** about it in any way.

Forum Medals: GCI T-Man goes out of his way to bring the community into the game by adding some new medals that users get to design. Here the damn medals don't even display correctly and your response to this... Silence!

Library: GCI we kept the library updated and new submissions were processed in hours normally. Here we can wait for over a week for approval and even then people don't know which ones they can use in a MV game as there is no way of telling. PLEASE use the Stardock Approved logo to indicate MV compatible mods.

Forums: Best not to go there! I am hopeful that the new forums will be better if and when they are ready...

User Images: Broken, reported and still not fixed!!

Nicknames: Tried to alter your nickname recently? DON'T! another error!

I just don't get it.. In GCI you promoted MV game play as a huge part of the experience, but here no mods are allowed and the MV just seems to be a side thing that you really cant be bothered with. You seem to only be pushing the mods side of the game?

I know its just a website but it sure as hell doesn't reflect well on you guys when your community website is so unsupported and frankly stinks. I mean come on please you cant even get the moderator powers sorted out. We have been waiting months for it to be rectified now!!!

Now i am sorry if this has turned into a rant but i had to get it off my chest. Who knows one of you may even read this post......

One customer who is seriously fed-up with this place

it seems you have fired SD

Well, it wouldn't let me edit my post but I mean this to be DG. Too much into the habbit of typing SD I think. I agree with Roy. So DG was frustrated, it seems Brad is as well but...

Hats off to DG for the job he did. I know being a mod on an active board can be more than hectic at times and I'd have to say he kept his cool for the most part.

Most of the original beta testers before the release of the first version of GC2 were GC1 players that had posted over a hundred games each to the GC1 metaverse. I posted almost 200. Technician posted over 1500. The metaverse is the most important thing that keeps people interested in the game. Not only can you compete against aliens, you can also compete against other alien killers. In this respect I would say that the metaverse IS part of the game. You do not seem to realize how important it is. If money is an issue, sell more expansions. I bet a poll stating a question like " would you purchase more expansions to help improve metaverse and forum maintainance" would be very well received. Not only would you make a nicer profit but you would keep people happy with new improvements to the game and the Metaverse/Forums at the same time. It would be a Win/Win situation for everyone. Remember word of mouth spreads faster than anything else. I have seen rapidly growing companies suddenly disappear the moment they abandon what got them to the top. I have been a Stardock supporter for 3 years and I dont want to see what made you a success disappear. Bye for now TBAY

Wow, where do I start!

I am not a "high ranking" member in the community either MV ranking-wise or access level-wise but I must state my opinion here.

I find navigation of this site to be cumbersome (at best), slow (compared to other sites), and a shadow of the site offered in the original Metaverse. All that having been said, how can anyone see the forums here as a ~minor~ extension of the game? Were it not for the ability to "join an empire", have a place to talk to those who joined the same empire, and ~EVEN BETTER~ have a site like that DG, DF, and others provide, I'd have lost interest in this game in a few months.

While that may not seem important from a "point of purchase" view, I'd like to think that since [quote=GreenReaper] "GC2 has (at a guess) maybe five times the users that GC1 had, in a shorter period of time..." ya'all might want to consider that this is an important selling point even if it's not an advertised one!

I can attest to the rapid response I have personally recieved from Cari and others in my issues (generally my own fault I'd like to add!) in the original MV and think that this is also an important selling point. I have personally told 10 to 15 people about Stardock and the great service and timely response I have recieved from them. How many other companies could I boast the same of??? (none)

As was stated by someone previously "I am a nobody here". But aren't the nobody's the bulk of your customers? I don't expect you folks to do miracles (and I certainly don't encourage a 70 hour work week), but perhaps a happy medium can be found for this site that will enable it to exist here.

The silent majority,
