Why is the website so slow?

The server was just upgraded recently, and it worked fine for a while.

But these past few days it has been getting slower and slower. It hangs with 1 item to go more often than not, and only loads a complete page after I hit refresh, sometimes several times because it will just sit there for several minutes with a blank screen.
And there have been many more 'server error' pages coming up as well.

Or is it just me?
Anyone else having troubles?

try clearing out the cookies and temp internet files. thats a common reason for forum slowdown.

Tried that.
No change.

It all started when this new reply box was put in.
I liked the old one better, too.

Someone has been working on the web, and they are not doing a very good job.

what browser are you using though? IE? Firefox? Firefox and a few others are known to have problems with these boards.

I use IE myself and haven't noticed any significant slowdown like you are experiencing.

Well, I've noticed that the "Recent Posts" thing is going WAY to slow. I mean really slow.

its always been too slow, its a little faster now since it used to take a half hour to an hour for it to reset the new stuff, now it takes maybe 15 or 20 minutes, still too slow by typical forum standards.

and that server error thing has popped up from time to time but isn't as bad as it was earlier.

try doing a cold reboot of your system if deleting the temp intenet files doesn't help, for some reason that has sometimes worked for me (probably dumping a a memory cache or temporary file)

It's not that this forum is so slow, it's just that you're too fast.

No it's very slow. recent posts would have completely new post cycling through every 10 minutes

The hamster has now got arthritis and needs a hip replacement. Normal service will be resumed once surgery has been performed.
