Railendar won't run anymore

Hi just recently I have found that the Railendar application has stopped runing on my laptop for no reason whatsoever.

I have created a new folder in program files and have downloaded it again into there. I had to do this because when I tried to download it into the original folder I got a message saying that this couldn't be done since railendar was currently running.

Now this new download wil not work either.

I cannot find it running anywhere. It's not shown to be running in the task manager and it almost seems to have become invisible. Can anyone out there help?

Thanks

Did you uninstall the old version first ? I've had instances of rainlendar doing this a few times. But usually it was that the Rainy was not " visible " But Im guessing you never had the rainy icon running in your system tray? If you did you could click on it to bring up preferences - in preferences you look for the " windows " then check each slide menu to be sure each is checked as " visible " Sometimes for unknown reasons they become unchecked and rainy is " invisible " Also , if you changed resolutions it maybe off your screen.

Just try uninstalling in your add/remove and ( delete folder if you have to - but save your skins elsewhere if you want to keep them - then paste them back when done )

You also are having a problem getting a weather widget to work as I recall.... Im wondering if you have recently done any windows updates or installed a firewall or any type of Nortons Utilities / anti virus etc. Both Rainlendar and Weather Widgets need to recieve information from another site. Im wondering if something on your computer is blocking this.

Re: #2 and #3. I have done what you guys have said i.e. uninstall the application but I don't seem to be allowed to uninstall the plugins folder.

I have made a backup copy of the skins no prob and the applicaion doesn't even show up up on the add/remove programs section of control panel anymore.

About the windows updates these are set to run in the middle of the week, no security etc. This just decided to flip out during the middle of the day.

Also on the railendar the calendar ( before the whole thing disappeared ) was not being displayed even when I made it visible and this was not particular with any skin I had chosen.

I am afraid that I may just have to do a total reboot, please tell me this isn't so

Thanks again

I was hoping that someone with a bit of knowledge would have replied to your post. Im out of ideas. I know with the weather object I tried everything to help you fix it that I could think of ....just seems that there must be something that is causing your computer to block these applications from running. Im not sure if its something to do with the " script " not being read correctly. I know there are others that can help you out here better than I can. Just keep checking back to see if someone else has any ideas. The weekend is rather quiet but hopefully someone will reply eventually.

Now you have two messes to clean up . If you're running XP, boot into Safe Mode and use the Uninstall exe in the Rainlendar folder (if you still have two instances, do both) then delete whatever is left (except the skins). Boot up into Windows and install Rainlendar. Do not use any of your customized skins until you get it running.

OK........whatever that is, I'm guessing it isn't so........

Ahah!! Sorted it and stopped the process from running in the processes tab of task manager.

I lost all my events and things to do but since I have no life anyway it doesn't really matter

Thanks anyway
