Land Usage

I had an idea recently for land usage in GalCiv3. I've been thinking that it's kind of wierd that you're only allowed to build these humongous projects on only the most gigantic portions of land. What if, instead of tiling off a world, you instead give each world an amount of usable land in square kilometers. Then, each project could take up as much or as little space as you wanted, and would produce an amount of research/food/production/whatever appropriate to how much land is allocated for it. You could probably also do some really cool things with 3D on the landscape of the planet.

Just a thought.

well, the idea with the current system is to keep it simple. Your suggestion is more "realistic" and essentially does the same thing in terms of balance, but is much more complicated to keep track of for the player.
