Civilization insignia on ships

Is there any mod out there, or in the works for that matter, that would allow the placing of roundels, or other insignia on ships? This would look cool on small fighters and even better on huge dreadnaughts where the logos could be larger than some enemy ships.

unfortunately i think SD left out a real plus here, adding logos to ships

It was said that the ability to place your race logo on ship jewelry would be coming in one of the current patches (1.1 or 1.2), but the feature has not appeared...

I would then actualy put the effort to make a cool race design.
You know ponys and flowers and death rainbows of metal glass.

Would it really be worth it? i mean, those ships are pretty small, even at the larger hull sizes.

i would much rather see hero/special ships
