Minaturization?

I know this has been asked again and agian and again, but seriosuly, how do you make it so a component has a straight-across-the-board size? I thank ye who will answer this.
And off topic, but...
How do you get the AI to redesign their ships dynamicly? (meaning right at reaserch finds)

Not the question...
I meen hod you get it so a laser can be, say, size 7 for Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge, and Cargo and not 7,9,12,14,15 etc.

The SizeMod attribute is what determines how much the size changes.
I have not played with it too much, but I think setting it to '1' would keep the component the same size.

Actually make the size mod 0, or just to be safe, you can see what the size mod is for a construction module, or troop module, since they are the same size no matter what.

I checked out the size mod attribute for the standard modules (Troop, colony, constructor) and they don't even have that attribute. Sounds like you can just delete them.

Though more weapons means ships are destroyed more easily, unless you modify the defenses too.

And don't forget, whatever you change the AI gets too. So if you mod the Sizemod the AI will have more on their ships as well. In the end it all evens out.
