Ships of Stargate

I'm a huge fan of the show stargate. One of the main things i love about the show is the ships that the different races use in the show. I would love to be able to create some of the ships from the show to use in Gal Civ, especially the Earth vessels such as the Prometheus and Daedulus. Unforntuantly I have no clue how to design my own ships other than in the game. I've seen some amazing ship mods on this site and was wondering if anyone out there could design any ships from Stargate. All the ships from the show would lend themselves well to the game i believe. Any help in this request would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to any who take the time to read this post. Other ships from the show include gou'ld motherships, gliders, cargo ships, the x-302 from earth, asgard ships, and even wraith motherships and darts. Just to name a few.

Well, we've only heard this request a dozen times. I'm sure someone is already working on it.

it's a huge pain in the butt if you don't know every comp by heart. the best way to design ships, IMO, is to set up a "battle of the gods" game (so you have all the hull sizes) on a tiny map (so as not to waste memory) and design ships w/o any functional comps.

like a dork, i assumed for the longest time that mini bonus was written into the ships. but if you design ships w/o functional comps, they'll be available to you as soon as the hulls are. in later games, all you have to do is upgrade them to include the comps you want.

i've thought about trying some SG style ships, but personally i don't enjoy copying other designs perfectly, so i've never made a full attempt at it. you could check the ship designs forum for something along the lines of what you're looking for:

Designing true ship mods goes way beyond the in-game ship designer, although some people have done nice work with it. You need some kind of 3D design software, such as MAX or Maya, then you have to add the mount points for engines and so on, and save it in a certain format to be able to use it with GC2. This is how all the slick Star Trek and Babylon 5 mods (and others) are done.
