No, smartypants...

The 'issue' is with wallpaper sources in particular.  Hopefully 'ripped' buttons, etc can be caught by the community...[fortunately Boots don't even have them to worry about].

If the wall image is your own personal work all you'd need to do would be to say so....but if it was being 'borrowed' from someone/where else then link and/or permission.txt to verify consent to use.

Rather than 'assuming consent' we 'assume prohibition' until evidence to the contrary.

In other words...we classify every submitted logon or boot as unacceptable and moderate it  UNLESS it has links/permissions/proof of ownership.

Means the moderators shoot first and ask questions later....

Very strange..looks like plain ordinary *English* to me...

Perhaps a case of selective inerpretation to meet ones agenda??

The world will never know....

I suppose it isnt the Stock Exchange that has material meant to be used in projects so that makes the licences agreement less important...

boss0190 ...yes, that's probably quite right....but if the user/uploader was totally oblivious to the reality that the image actually belonged to Ubisoft....because he found it on RippedWallsRUs.com or somewhere then he is 'innocent' of intent, only of actuality...

RippedWallsRUs.com would put the Ubisoft logo on a wall that wasn't Ubisoft's? A bit of a stretch I think...but I don't know how those sites work....could be.

Double Zero ...read #79.

Nothing is entirely 'simple' otherwise you would not have had your knickers in a twist and would simply have abided by what was requested of you...

No....you missed the point...the uploader/user of the image may not even know that an image was Ubisoft's....and even if he did the site he was on may simply say...'do what you like' ...so he did just that.

We give him too much credit if we then have him thinking...."ooh, it has a 'tag' - Ubisoft.  I wonder if they have a site..and is this image theirs...and do they have any restrictions?"....

Ok, thanks for "clearing" that up.

I read it, thought about it, labeled it for what it is...more of the same BS

Innocent or not, according to that agreement, those boots should come down..
That copyright extends to anywhere those images are used without permission...

Again, there is still that [admittedly slight] chance that these works  WERE sourced from the 'right' location, AND he sought and obtained permission.

It has happened more than ONCE that someone was accused of ripping [and in public] when he infact HAD permission....[and guess what?...that's why forum threads 'magically' get deleted].

At least Cavan1 knows how to email...so I was already aware of those other ones...

Is the permission properly contained within the file? Those are the rules, right?
Or do they "Selectively" change as well?
That is something that would have been looked for in moderation..right?

Email is for people that have something to hide Jafo, this really is a public issue, no matter how bad you wish it were not.
I have nothing to hide..I will say what I say in front of anyone that cares to listen..if I am wrong, and proven wrong..I can and will admit my mistakes and move on...

Im not accusing the uploader of anything other than an oversight, we have all done it and really isnt anything to be ashamed of.. I am making other accusations however, and you know exactly what they are.

Sorry...I'm busy with my agenda...no time to be psychic as well.

Email is to stop issues that can end up as libel and/or defamation cases.

Admitting a mistake to the recently humiliated/insulted is ever so noble.  Just 'move on' and leave the wreckage for others to fix.

Policy here is NOT to post such in public...whether you think it is right to do so or not is immaterial.

Policy is not yours to interpret, only to abide by.

And said 'policy' is not mine.  It is the site's.

Consider this.

If you have deemed Wincustomize.com to be an unsuitable host for your work/s why, pray tell are you debating how they are managed?

It's a fait accompli, surely.

Wincustomize is fine for hosting my work, I'll say this slow so you understand, it is *You I have the issue with Jafo...

Policy is not yours to interpret, only to abide by.

And said 'policy' is not mine. It is the site's.

And thats very true, but when that policy is interpreted by someone in charge such as yourself to benefit only your wants and needs then it no longer is the "Sites" policy..is it?, it has been bastadized by you personally..

Just like the other sites policies that you selectively take only the portions from that suit your needs...

Admitting a mistake to the recently humiliated/insulted is ever so noble. Just 'move on' and leave the wreckage for others to fix.

Wow I did not have any idea that you cared so deeply for anyone in that respect, especially with some of the poor treatment I have witnessed personally of you doing exactly that..

Back on the subject at hand..
The site policy and the issue of the permission being included in the file, that clearly has a "Logo" on it..Was it?

Read #73 again.

Clearly 'policy' needs to be revised.  Uploading conditions need to be letter-perfect and absolute.

It will happen...but you will NEED patience.

I do not write the rules.  I simply add input to them.

Yeah! What happened Jafo? Beer 30 was several hours ago.

I've noticed that one of your own posts dissappeared. Now this?

You are celebrating the whole "Australia gets some goals" thing way too much.

When Fuzzy's away, ol' Jafo will play!
