Transparent Skins

Any transparent skin lags my screen. Makes webpages and stuff like that all choppy and sketchy. Any idea why? I know my pc can handle it. My specs are,

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0GHz
Asus K8V
ATI X800XT
1 Gig Kingston Hyper X
Dual SATA Seagate 120GB HDD's (Running in Raid 0)
500 WATT Ultra X-Connect Power Supply

Any help would be great...

What driver version are you using for the vid card? Try updating or regressing. I've heard that some drivers don't like WB.

Also, it never hurts to post your system info from the WB config app.

I am using Catalyst 6.4 Windows XP. 6.5 is out, maybe I should upgrade. Its wierd cuz ive never had this problem before.

Also where do I find the WB config app?

open WB configuration (right click tray icon)
on the left is 'system information'
click it and copy/paste the info here

You seem to have a mismatch of WB files so I would suggest reinstalling WB to see if it helps.

Some of your files look a bit older than mine (although I am on the latest beta and there will be some difference). What version of WB are you using?

Are you using SDC to keep current? https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp I highly reccommend it.

Install SDC, let it update. Then update WB and see what happens.

Kinda looks like you were installing while crossing time zones.

the files look right now.

may now be a video driver issue.

try an update or a rollback - sometimes the updates don't work right with WB and a older driver does.

Your WBlind.dll is not the most recent (Wblind.dll 2006/05/22 19:55:42), which is very odd since you said you just updated through SDC. If I were you, I would uninstall WindowBlinds, reboot, open SDC and UNcheck the option "Show pre-release versions" and install the latest public release. Reboot! Then return to SDC, check the box for "Show pre-release versions" and install the latest beta. That should at least get you the right version of WBlind.dll.

There's a slight issue with the beta, don't remember what it is...but Neil suggested on those posts to roll back to the released and when they get it fixed they would issue a new update.

trying the beta is fine...just have SDC autoarchive your released version..makes it easier to roll back - you don't have to re-download

Did what Hapkido and Bichur said. I will start testing again. Hope it updated right?
