Serial Number/SID error?

I downloaded the update for Galciv 2 and tried to run it, it said it appears to be validated but the serial number or SID don't match...I don't think I'd actually played since my computer, err, ate itself, just reinstalled theg ame on the reformatted drive...I'm assuming this caused the problem, but how do I fix it?

Delete the sig.bin file from your GalCiv 2 directory and re-activate.
