winlogon dll failure, after reinstalls and restarts

I have a problem similar to this post:

Problems: double-left-click will open properties box, right-click will open the window in a new window, and all single left-mouse clicks act as if I am holding down the control button (make copies, make additional selections of files/etc.)
troubleshooting dialogue box:
open opened 1st time:
1.multiplicity winlogon dll is not running, 2. winlogon dll has failed testing.
open opened 2nd, 3rd, etc. times:
all green, but problems still present.
a reinstall on both machines paired with a restart fixes things, but only for a bit.
I wanna buy this app, but only if it is reliable!
