Tile Bonus Questions

Okay, let's see, there is the research, manufacture, food, and influence bonus. I have a question or two for each one!

Research... What is the supposed highest or the highest bonus you have ever seen?

Manufacture... To all factors that have a capital to it, i.e. Factory, Labs, Political, will it be more beneficial to place the center on the bonus, or placing the capital on a normal tile. I have made it a manner to place the Manufacturing Capital the my best industrial bonus, usually being 500% or 700%. Have I been missing out?

Food... Is it just me or is placing a farm on a 300% tile approval suicide? Say a planet is a class 10 and a 300% tile. Would it be more profitable to place a farm, entertainment then fill the other 7 with stocks; or place the farm on the 300% tile and filling the majority of the planet with entertainment just to keep approval up.

Influence... Do I need to build embassies to take profit off these? I have noticed I build stuff on top and in the summary, I supposedly still earn the bonus. Am I reading it wrong or is it a bug?

Thanks all, I'll clarify it if you ask me too.

Supposed highest research: 700%. People have claimed this, but most have never seen it, and for reference I've had the 300% at best.

Manufacturing: Placing ANY capital on a bonus wastes the bonus. The tile is a bonus to output. A capital has no output.

Food: On a planet lower than 17, yes these aren't brilliant. If you're going for a 100bil pop planet, they're great.

Influence is embassies, yes. The bonus is a %, so even if you still get it with no influence output from any other building it's wasted, just like a capital on a bonus tile

Well I did some more looking into this.

Ok, the first image is a factory build over an influence bonus. To the right, you can see the influence bonus still added onto the factory! I gave the image of the overall, and it gives the influence bonus 125%. Am I reading it incorrectly?

The second is a normal factory built onto a 100% bonus tile. Nothing unusual, this is supposedly what most people do? But there on the third, I built the manufacturing capital on the 100% bonus to find I am getting a 50 bonus from that tile! Now the civilization capital gives an industry of 24, with the manu.cap. being 50% plus the 100%+ bonus, it adds to 50, now imagine a 700% doing that! 24+50.. 74, it seems to add up.

So, am I misreading this summary, is the summary bugged, or does adding a manufacture capital on an industry bonus really is the better?

Thanks again.

The influence bonus always happens. Since you aren't generating any influence it doesn't matter anyway.

It actually looks tweaked to me, since you have a factory producing no MP. Could you please post a couple of direct screenshots?

what eactlay am I suppoused to do with approval bonuses? I don't understand how they are suppoused to work.

Actually, I personally screencaptured those. The only reason for the low quality is cause I saved it as a jpg. And the reason I fit 3 different screens into one was for sheer luxory. I didn't save the screenshots as I just cut it from each, but sure if its the manufacturing you need, I'll get another one.

What do you mean, "Since you aren't generating any influence it doesn't matter anyway". Sorry it's not that I want to sound like a jerk, it's that I don't understand what that sentence meant. Thanks.

On the food thing, here's my study of a game I played until I was sure to win (1-Oct-2227)
227billion population, spread over 32 planets in the empire.
The size of world doesn't directly affect the negative morale impact, but there's a bonus for large worlds.
The penalties here are just for population size.

It's about -10% for the first 5billion, -25% to 11billion, and about -40% to 15billion.

okay... what about the approval tile bonuses, how do you use those? I understand how to use the others, but I have no idea about the approval tile bonus.

Wow nice graph AngleWyrm, so your graph gives a visual of the expectations I should see.

As for smjjames, Oh I forgot about approval bonuses! You simply build an entertainment center on it to get its bonus. But an interesting question would be, does the approval cross over no matter what the improvement like influence, do wonders that provide morale also benefit from the bonus?

Angle, there is a cap for population morale decrease at 27billion, and the morale decrease near that is exponential.
Alibi, firstly the factory doesn't make influence. Population and embassies etc make influence, so you're getting 125% of 0, which is still 0.

That manu centre has to be bugged. I swear the dev's said that it doesn't work, and it's been passed down the forum that it doesn't work, so perhaps if you can get that to stardock?

Ah, I feel retarded now. About the factory I SS'd from the game. The factory may not produce influence, but that 100%+ influence is shown to be carried over to the colonial summary shown next to the starport one. What was 25%+ from the capital, is now 125%+ that affects the planet's population and junk right? According to the numbers, it just seems to work.

As for the manu centers, yeah it doesn't make sense for a 700% of 50% to be 350. The game is seeing the center as a 50 marked factory. But, perhaps that is a purposeful decision from the dev? Either way, is it best to place the center of the bonuses considering what I just showed?
