A little confused
Big spaces

Hi,
I am unsure what all the bars etc are called so bear with me while I describe them!
When I add extra shortcuts to one of the pop menus on the bottom bar that pops up but then delete them the space where the shortcut was does not resize, instead a space remains.
I want to delete a number of shortcuts from this bar and move them to another but I am finding the vast expanse of space on that one bar annoying..........any ideas as to what I should do????
I have tried comparing the specs of this one pop up bar to the others which work fine when I delete shortcuts and the only difference I can find is as follows "allow items on this bar to be smaller than their ideal width" appears but is unchecked whereas on the other bars "allow this bars width to be resisized" but again it is unchecked and so I figured it was not making a differene. I also couldn't work out how to change to "allow this bar to be resized"......although I don't see what difference it would make as it is unchecked.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
