No cutscenes in game

What could cause it

I'm playing the campaign. I'm not seeing any cutscenes. I know they exist because the first time I beat Darkness Rising it started to play and then crashed to desktop. Now it doesn't start them at all.

I don't know which debug.err to send, but does anyone have an idea what's causing this?

(I know I replied to a thread about this, but it wasn't in Bug Reports, so I'm starting one here)

There r not any cut scenes. I wish there was, but there r none. Just a narrative. Stardock let us down here.

They exist. I've seen the first two second of one. It started to zoom in on the temple the Drengin were using to unleash the Dread Lords, and then froze. Since then I've been unable to get that or any other cutscene.

(plus there's an old thread where the devs say they do exist)

There are, but you have to have downloaded the multimedia downloads from SDC.

I do have cutscenes on my disc.
I can see them with BinkPlayer nicely.
But only first one (campaign intro) appears in the game.
The release of DL that should happen after 3rd mission never appears on screen.

I reported the cut scenes not appearing in the campaign, to Stardock on April 25 and here is my communication with Cari Begle, Lead Developer, Galactic Civilizations series.

The cut scenes are showing up in my first Metaverse game (Painfull, Gigantic, 9 AI opponents).

The bubble around Earth cut scene did not show up for me when I completed the last mission of the campaign, Escape. I think it is intended to show up after the Salvation mission since that one ends with the Pre-Cursor device creating the protective shield around the Earth.
