If you are serious about desktop customization you should look at a ODNT subscription. It's a suite of applications for skinning your system. Check it out here: https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/features.asp
For the icons and the wallpapers (if included), open WB configuration (right click the systray icon) and go through the settings. You'll see one to check to use icons (icon packager required) and one to check to apply a wall paper if supplied with the skin.
i got the icons to show but i couldnt get the wallpapper to show do i have to download another programe to make it show? and how about the cursors do i also hav to download another programe to make them show? costomizing my comp is hard can some1 plz explain this to me and wat to do plz???
Wallpapers = no extra software needed, unless you want it - various ones out there, can also browse walls using WB5 - open WB configure and look on the left under per application.
Cursors = yes = CursorXP = Link
You can also click the 'software' tab at the top of the page which will take you here: Link
If you decide to purchase any of the software - add up the cost of the total then compare to the full package.
Compare the Object Desktop price to the total price of all the individual components of Object Desktop: Link
To really start at the beginning, it would help if you gave a name or link to the skin(s).
There are also some 'getting started' tutorials on some of the programs. Start here: Link , there are others listed on the right.
ok i finshed downloading the xbox 360 blind but the icons and wall papper and cursor dont show up. and it the picture for the blind i saw the wallpapper and the icons and the cursor. and i triend loading the i cons to icon packager but it said it was not detected. wat should i do???
do you have cursorxp installed?
the .exe or the .suite or the .wba and the .ip?
if the .exe, just have just installed all and I believe it's in start menu
if the .suite, i believe you will need theme manager to apply it
if the .wba, then if Windowblinds is installed and you have already double clicked the .wba - it should be in the skins list
if the .ip - if iconpackager is installed double clicking the ip or right clicking and opening with iconpackager should put it in ip's list.
which did you download?
which have you double clicked?
which have you right clicked on and chose open with? and open with what?
what shows in WBs list and IPs list?
what has applied and what hasn't worked?
i downloaded windows blind icon packager and cursorxp. and for the blinds i downloaded the xbox360 and the nemo. the blinds are wba. i doubled clicked the blinds. i tried opening the blinds with IP and cursor xp but it wont work. it shows the skin in WB list but not the icons in IP list. the skin has appiled and the wall papper, icons, and cursors havent.
. Good Luck!!!!!
the .wba doesn't have the icons or cursor.
the xbox360 .suite has: a blind (.wba) and iconpackage (.ip) and a wall...there is no curosr.
if you start here: Link
the first 4 links (Grey,Black,Full and Lite) take you to a page that looks like the first page except the name is different. clicking the download at the bottom right will download the .suite file for that theme. The .suite opens with theme manager (see software tab above)
the next link down (where it shames you for not having object desktop) downloads an .exe file that includes the main component software (I think)- windowblinds and iconpackager, for those who do not have it.
the link referencing the stand-alone will take you to a page that looks like the first page, but if you click download at the bottom you get a .wba (wb skins)
the next link takes you to the icon page, if you click download at the bottom you will get an .ip.
this one in particular gets confusing because the text is identical on every page
there is no cursorxp
