Ship-Unfleetable and mixed up layers

I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not, but has anyone had a ship that could not be put in a fleet? I have a certain small ship that for some reason persistantly remains at 7/15 HP and will not dock with the rest of my ships. It is the same class as most of my other ships, but it just will not join up. Not even with one other ship. This is not a logistics issue btw.
Also, sometimes when I go to save a ship the "save ship box" appears behind the desing screen. To see it, I have to abandon my desing and then if I click yes or whatever the game crashes. That maybe a Video card issue although I though I have pretty up to date driver. btw my video is a Radeon 9600XT.
