Want to Edit Morpheus' SouLuna v1

I'm attempting to learn about skinning by trying to edit some of my favorite downloaded skins in SkinStudio Free v5 and seeing what happens.  What I am trying to do with Morpheus' SouLuna v1 is to "fix" a glitch with some kinds of right-click and pulldown menus.  See attached images to see what I mean.  From what I gather, different programs handle right-click menus differently than others. Nevertheless, I believe this problem to be skin specific because I haven't seen it in any other skin and it behaves the same way under WB 4.6 and WB 5. I haven't been able to find what settings I have to change to correct these glitchy menus.  Any suggestions for this newby?

There are two reasons for what you see.

One is the menu item text color and the other is the use of ClearType. Any toolbar masquerading as a menu (as all those shown are) will manifest this problem.

In SkinStudio, go to Controls/Menus/Bar items - toolbar like. Change the text color there to black. Do the same thing for Controls/Menus/Bar Items. Save & re-apply the skin to see the change & test a few menus.

The ClearType issue is tougher to deal with in a skin with a light color menu mouseover graphic - the ghost color is taken from the regular Windows Highlight Color. Your choices are to turn off ClearType or change the Highlight Color to something that more closely matches the mouseover graphic color of the menuitem - then it will still be there but you won't "see" it. A very light color highlight on a white background can be a problem, though, particularly with white highlight text, so you kind of have to live with one or the other.

There is a good blog by Adam Namanowicz here on WC titled something like "10 things to check before uploading your skin" that goes into more detail on this if you need further help.

Update on the glitchy menus...  I did get the menus to produce legible items.  Now, is there a way to change the font on these ersatz toolbar menus?  I tried making changes in several different places and it had no effect.

I've been unable to get that font to change, either, even with Fonts for Classic Widgets. I'm thinking it's fixed for some reason &/or SD hasn't figured out how to change it. My guess is that it has something to do with the way MS codes these toolbars tricked out to be menus, but I'm not technical & don't really know.

I had my suspicions that these might not be changable.  Oh well!
