I see a lot of mod ideas like "Starwars Mod, Battletech Mod, Trek Mod" etc, but nobody has yet hit the idea of a global Science Fiction mod...
Don't know much on how to mod, but if anyone wants to work on this concept, feel free...
10 "Races", 5 different styles of hull. Choose 5 popular scifi titles, make two races from each title, and hulls designed from what each sci-fi "universe" used.
My personal picks would be; Startrek, Starwars, Babylon 5, Battlefleet Gothic (WH40K), and Battletech...
ie: Federation (Trek), Kingon (Trek), Sith/Empire (SWars), Jedi/Rebels (SWars), Earth Alliance (Bab5), Centauri (Bab5), Chaos (BFG), Imperium (BFG), Federated Commonwealth (BTech), Clan Jade Falcon (BTech).
Create a tech-tree for weapons mixing what each "universe" used (Phasors would be better than a Turbolaser, but weaker than Naval PPCs).
Would be a neat mod to be able to try the might of the Empire against the skill of the Klingon Empire...
