Map Script Request

Please please, pretty please with sugar on top

Hate to use a Civ4 analogy, but I want a way to "influence" how galaxies are created, and more than the settings in game.
Specifically like specifying initial empire placement as far away as possible. Reduce or eliminate the need for Ctrl-N. Especially since Ctrl-N is now frustrating with the metaverse. Frequency of resources, anomalies planets, stars. Everything could be tweaked by modder.

Civ 4 has map scripts and I've used a couple. It was a real wow for me to go thru the code. What's priceless is that some will or would build some that do surpise you and actually make some good ones for the benefit of all who would use it.

Devs please give this a shot if its feasible. Thanks.

This is a great idea. I hate the 'pure random' maps - even a CIV1 style 'age/climate/shape' system would be good. Proper scripting would be EXCELLENT.

GalCiv2 maps are not quite as random as you might think. There is a lot going on "under the hood" to give each player, computer and human, a fair chance.

Awesome, but you guys get the point though right? Even if Stardock don't want to commit any more time to the matter allowing a modder to tweak it just right would be priceless.

I wish I knew what was going on under the hood. It's so unconceivable at times, the easiest thing to say other than WTF, is it must be random.

Reduce or eliminate the need for Ctrl-N.

This is my main point. "Fair Start" is very rare the first time the current galaxy generator is run, and normally takes several times to get something decent.

Ctrl-N is now frustrating with the metaverse.

Second point, it no longer just rethinks and re-draws the galaxy, you have to start from square 1 each time logging into metaverse, galaxy setup, pick your race, pick your enemies, wait to generate.
Also, much as GC2 builder is cool , metaverse games and scenarios don't mix. Sandbox mode only, no custom maps or scenarios is permitted.

There can be some good things come about as modders find ways to do this stuff and eliminate the need to Ctrl-N.
Somebody could also come up with other interesting scripts to test and play. Adjusting resources, planets, stars, sizes, colors, moons. Examples : Rare resources mod, More Abundant resources mod, Milky Way Redux (Galaxy Realism as much as possible ). Also being able to specify how abundant is abundant and just how rare is rare.

Please I ask for your support, both forum readers and devs.
