That's cool, Woolfie, I wasn't trying to start anything with anyone, honestly I wasn't. I have only recently started participating here, even though I set up this account long ago. It looks like I have stepped on a few toes (by disagreeing with Guy on another issue, but I thought that what this place was for, debate and discussion?) so I have been rejected by certain "cliques."

That's fine with me, but when the members of those cliques start hassling me on other people's blogs it really takes all the fun out of this place. It seems like everyone is crabby and no one has a sense of humor at ALL. I have been called a troll, been accused of being someone else, been accused of being banned from this site, and blacklisted by this clique.

The Administrator posted an article last week (?) about how this site is getting more traffic but there are fewer new blogs, and if this is how people treat newcomers, it's no wonder. And on top of that, I was accused of not contributing because I don't have any articles on my blog, but this thing won't LET me create a blog, every time I try I get a message that says " We are making changes to the database, try again later" so I'm getting cussed out over something I can't fix!

...yeah...i've noticed that there are bands of bloggers here. Not necessarily "cliques"... It seems people are a bit edgy...not just here, everywhere. Oh, let me suggest a few things...respect the admins, don't get "sent to your room" (i.e. exiled to your own blog...as i've been that way for nearly 10 months...:S) and....try as hard as you can to not "feed" col. G. While, he is good for a debate. Most of the time (i personally do this) you just have to shake yer head at him...even if you *do* agree with him.

Oh, I am. I've been involved in many forums in the past so I know that there are always certain personalities that are going to bump heads. I'm just not used to being 'rubbed out' (having reasonable, on-topic remarks erased) and finding myself blacklisted so quickly. Guy did this to me the very first time I spoke up, and another person has announced that she was officially "ignoring" me and I never spoke to her before at all! Then yesterday, I left a pro-Bush poem (song) on something written by Bakerstreet, (who seems to BE a Bush supporter) and he deleted it, saying I have been banned. It was a cool song, dude, there was nothing nasty or sarcastic about it.

What the hell? It makes me wonder if I have B.O. or something, !

No, because I assume they are aware of the problem because I do get the message screen saying they are making changes and to try back again. I've only been trying to post here for 2 weeks, so that's not an unreasonable amount of time to have a feature down, but it WOULD explain why fewer new blogs are being started. I opened this account about a year ago but never used it until recently, and now that I want to use it, it seems things are screwy.

I have found a few nice people here so far, and there's got to be more, I hope so at least! Thanks for being decent, you and Tova both. I do have strong opinions on some issues, but it's probably best that I keep them to myself for now, it seems some folks just can't handle it and I do hate to get off to a bad start.

I wouldn't worry about Baker. He is a cool guy and I doubt you will stay in his BL long. However, someone as petty as Trudy will keep you there because she offers the defense of a three year old. DG deleting your comments is the same sort of behavior. He will bitch and moan if you delete his comment and might even call you a coward. It's ok when he does it though. Let's say it together ... DOUBLE STANDARD.

I personally loved her in your face style....and her opinionated ways. I thought she spiced up JU. She is articulate and a great writer imo. She was the type of person I'd probably not meet in real life now, but I was glad to "meet" at JU.

However, those things are bound to make people either love ya or hate ya.

There are people on JU who hate her...and since she left anyone who comes on as anonymous and has a particularly blunt post gets tagged LW. I'm not saying she hasn't posted, because I don't know for sure. But the two of you have similar writing styles....and the whole 'dick goes in ya' thing...well, that's just the kind of in your face style LW went for.

I don't know who you are in real life, and I don't really care. I figure you are just as much a part of JU as anyone else who has a year old blog they've shelved until now. I will take you at face value until I have reason not too.
I try to do that with everyone I "meet." But on the net it is so much easier!

I didn't mention her because I couldnt quite remember her name, lol, but that sounds right. As far a proof goes, you've confused me somewhat. How can they prove anyone wasn't this former blogger? People can move, change ISPs, login from other computers, and as far as proving someone IS the former blogger, the same principles apply.

I do have considerable forum experience and I've seen this sort of thing before, anytime someone leaves, especially if that person was controversial in some way, the whole board gets paranoid for a while. It will pass. Meh, I'll just chill, abide by the rules of posting, and start writing on my own blog as soon as I can. For now all I can seem to do is reply on others', so it will have to do.

I'm starting to understand what's going on now, and I do appreciate the information. I didn't mean to be blunt with anyone, but there are certain issues I feel strongly about (vigilante justice being one of them because I have personal experience with it that I don't care to discuss) and that was where I got into trouble with Guy and some other dude that was condoning something similar but on a smaller scale. I also enjoy reading about various religions, cooking, and G.W. You'd think I could stay out of trouble, !

The only reason I clicked here is because I don't like telemarketers either, but have found that the best way to handle them is with a firm, polite, NO THANK YOU. If you are rude to them, they can really make your evenings a living hell, what with all the computerized dialers and stuff like that that they have. You're phone will ring off the hook! (I call it Telemarketers Revenge.)

I'm glad I did click here, I've met some nice people, and I have no doubt that all this other hooplah will die down sooner or later.

Long story. *thinks* I'll put it this way: I started blogging. Was, shall we say, "faux". One thing led to another, and eventually I lost control, butted heads with a 'few' folks around here....etc... I've asked a few times about being let out...and, nothing.

Lucas - I still think that you have a good bit of growing up to do. However, you are a young guy and entitled to a few mistakes. I think your biggest trouble is when you "slip" up it is usually something that you knew you shouldn't be doing (or at least something that the folks around here feel like you should already know).

You do seem like you have good intentions but perception is a powerful thing. It is going to be hard to convince someone who has already made up their mind (sometimes several times over with you) that you have changed.

I also feel that sometimes your approach is all wrong. (I know I don't see your emails to the admins - well unless you post them) You and I have a bad poo flinging history. That doesn't mean I think you are the poo you fling though. Just as I still like Dr. Guy. I just don't like his behavior right now.

Maybe someday you will receive citizen 1 status again.

Well...My first email...was about 3 1/2 months after i was exiled. The next was about 5 months...so on and so forth. True, one of the biggest things that I was irked about, pertaiing to you is the view (at the time) of you (and...others) of being the "monkey on the back". I got a lot of it at home. (still do occasionally)

I'd be curious to know how many people read your articles and whether being exiled makes much of a difference as far as points go, Lucas.

You seem to have a fairly regular readership, is what I'm getting at. Whether or not you're accessed through the forums, it still seems like you are being read nonetheless.

How many? *shrugs* I don't know. Its not how many people read my blogs....don't get me wrong, its nice...but, I'd like to get out and go to *other* blogs.
