Still can't edit...

It's about a year old, as well.

It's a CRT......

I won't tell you it's broken if you don't want me to......

YRAG! Say it isn't so.

Why would a bad 'pixel' or whatever, be skinnable?
It's not a 'pixel'. Try turning the monitor off, have a beer, turn back on......

Will do.

*note to self.....must consult Yrag more often and stock up on beer.

When did it start? Did it appear all at once or develop gradually? What other changes occurred around that time-- software, power surges, new hardware, etc? Is there any change if you use new wallpaper or if you put an object in that spot?

(I hope you wear a surgical mask to avoid spreading it around when you post here...

Too bad we can't edit yet! UnderDog to the rescue! It's a good thing-- I type too slow & don't have any answers...

Time to kick back & watch!

All at once.
None.
It sits over wallpaper and has the color of whatever skin I am using.

Share and share alike, I always say.

Too bad there's not a way to transfer beer to Yrag-- something like FTP...

Is it me or is the 'time stamp' for the posts off by an hour?

something like FTP

Heh, it's a new protocol.. BTP (Beer tranfser protocol). We could even have a secured version SBTP. I like it!

Central Time. Turn off the computer and the monitor. Un-plug from the graphic card (look at the plug and make sure no pins are bent). Re-seat it and fire up the monitor and then the computer. Make sure there's nothing electrial (including speakers) sitting around the monitor.

BTW: let me know when you want me to tell you the monitor is broken.....

What could break it that way? (Warranty expiration?)
Would it gradually get more & more spots?

Before you fall apart, Po.......it's possible this 'thing' could go away as mysteriously as it arrived. It's not 'skinning ' the square, the monitor is not applying the correct RGB to it. If it's changing color, then there's a good chance it will go away (maybe, even in your lifetime). Look in Display properties/ Settings/ Advanced/ Color Management...make sure it's set to the sRGB color profile. If not, click 'Add' and apply it.

I don't think its a bad monitor. I think it's an app.

I had spyware on one of the kids PC once that looked similar. It was an app sized very, very small.

Open up taskman and see if there are any "odd" processes running.
Open msconfig and see if there is anything set to start that you don't recognize.
Reboot in safe mose and see what you see.
Change your resolution and see if the "bad pixel" stays in the same spot.

I didn't do anything, but I'm glad it's fixed. Hard to imagine a Po' with no monitor

Glad it's not spyware.
