IconX and Remote Connection

I leave my work laptop running, but locked, when I go home. IconX 1.11.008 is also running. If I use Remote Connection (Windows XP SP2) to connect to my work machine while IconX is running on the work machine, the Remote Connection option of not showing the desktop wallpaper gets ignored.

I have played with various Remote Connection settings, with no success. Is this a bug in IconX (seems unlikely in this case), or some incompatibility between IconX and Remote Connection?

Due to how IconX works, it paints the desktop as part of its own window.  This is why you still see it when you remote desktop in because IX has no idea that it should not be showing the wallpaper (Microsoft seem to have no documented way to know what settings a RD client has set)
