Confused on influnece

Ok, the Drengi and I hadanother little spat and this time I ignored their cries for peace when I drove them off. This time I didn't play nice, I took them down hard. I manage to swipe thier homeworld and about 8 of their 14 or so planets before they surrender (to the Yor of all races....) Despite many close calls I manage to win the game (yaaaay!) and notice that Drengi is listed as my most influental (yes, I slaughtered the spelling) planet, and I was confused. I made Drengi into a pure research planet, 2 factorys, starport, and a ton of research facilities. Now I would think my homeworld Cyre would be the most influental considering I've the Restruant of Eternity, Galatic Showcase, political capital, a Cultural thinymajig (its what the embassy turns into), and about 3 Stock exchanges. Anyone have an explanation for this?

Well Restruant of Eternity and Galatic Showcase give bonuses to your entire race, so it doesn't help your homeworld. Political Capital is no different that a Cultural Exchange Center, at least when it comes to influence. So you basically have 50% bonus to influence more on your Homeworld. So the only thing I can think of that might make Drengi the most influential is that it has a higher population than your homeworld since influence is the result of your influence ability and your population.

That or perhaps there are more worlds in the vicinity of Drengi than your homeworld. Therefore it has more overall population to influence.

Couldn't of had a higher population, but it was in the middle of everything (the Dregni had a real bad game ) If population is a factor, I'm suprised my econmoic capital wasn't the most influental. Heck, at the end it had two advance farms (one of which was on a small farm bonus tile ) and I don't know how many stock exchanges. Class 29 after terraforming, had lots-o-tiles and made me lots-o-money! Had it better defended than my capital. Also it was in a nice little cluster of class 10's-13's.

While we on this, where can you find the stats that affect its influence and pop. cap? With morale, I know you can hover your cursor over the percentage and it shows you, but everything else I'm kinda foggy on.

Population cap can be found on the wiki hereLink. As for factors that affect influence it can be racial abilities, buildings built, trade goods, etc. There is a decent description hereLink on the wiki site. I'm not sure if there is a list of things that affect influence anywhere, but you can use GalactopediaLink to look through the techs and such and find the ones that give bonuses and whatnot.

afaik the most influential planet is not the planet that accumulated the most influence throughout the game, its the planet that produces the most influence in one turn
so if you conquered drengi and the AI did build 5 embassys there then drengi would be your most influential planet this turn

had a funny thing like that last game
i wondered why a specific planet didnt flip, it should have been mine long ago with all my influence stuff but it simply didnt flip
when i took it by force i saw that the AI did build 7 or 8 (!!) embassys and had lots of population
