Battletech/Mechwarrior Mod

I have decided to begin work on a BT/MW mod, if one does not already exist. If so then someone please direct me to it.

This mod will either be set in the current year of CBT or a new era in the MW universe that has been devised by some of the people at Battletech Mod Productions. You can head over there and look in the NeoMTS section of the forum for more information on this new advancement of the universe.

My plan for ship models is to take the existing ships, model them, and cut them into little peices. That way, you can build just about any ship you want, including the McKenna. Oh, and if you like the McKenna, check our site banner

My $0.03, stick to "Classic" Battletech's era. The travesty they call Mechwarrior Dark Ages ruined everything, but times were good up until about 3065.

If you do get somewhere with this mod, some suggestions...
Jump Sails NOT having any mounting points. Last thing you want is a fragile sail turned into a Light-Bright
House/Clan insignias as mountable objects... A nice disc with the DiamondShark logo (just as an example) would add some much needed style to these unmarked hulls.
And Kanny's onto something, DAMN a McKenna would be nice...

Just some ideas...

This mod will take place in a time AFTER Mechwarrior Dark Age. This new era is being made by fans and will live up to what fans want. It's just like CBT but takes the MWDA stuff and incorporates most of it as well as adds some entirely new things. We will most likely be adding a Rotary Gauss for example, but it will be as balanced as possible and will hve its own advantages as well as disadvantages that will limit its use. Whether or not all of these things will be in the mod has yet to be decided, but we are taking the original BT warship weaponry and building off of that.

That is also a nice idea about the logos. If you guys would like to discuss some ideas more, go to www.galciv2bt.6te.net and register at the forums, that would be the best place to keep track of all of these ideas. If you've got a good one, I am more than willing to see if it will work.

Oh, and the McKenna will definetly be in this game, its in our banner after all

Sorry, I've been a fan for some time. I even bought a bunch of books recently despite no-one to play the actual game with just to read all the stuff again. (The "classic" thing still throws me off though... Makes me feel old.)

So far the one thing I did to have a basic sort of BT Mod was exchanging the races' logos for BT logos provided in the library but I'm acurious as to what you guys are able to put together.

Well, drop by the site, which has moved to galciv2bt.com, and see what we are up to. There isn't a whole lot going on right now, mostly set up and background work for now, then we will start on modeling and all that other fun stuff like staring at endless pages of XML scripting. What fun!

If you would like to lend a hand, I'm in need of modelers/texturers and really anyone that wants to help can probably do something.

You could also swap invasion images and make that worth watching (Human Madcat vs drengin Atlas) and maybe switch the troop mods with, like, a mech commander drop ship. Also what would be interesting is to switch Invasion videos with replays of MW or MC games.

A Battletech mod would be cool, is there any way to change the images for the ground combat?
