I have the new version of Enh. Dialog . In Microsoft Word or Excel the program is not working. How can I reach that the program is working.

Thanks.

Open Enhanced Dialog settings, select Forced tab, select add, browse for the .exe of apps you want to use enhanced dialog.

Hi,

the programs (excel, word) are included in the forced tab settings. But the enh. dialog is not working.

I seem to recall that the office suite handles dialogs differently than the rest of Windows. I had to exclude them (or was it just outlook?) when using ED.

As allways, your mileage may vary.

I didn't have to exclude them but I tried adding Word & then Outlook to Forced. They aren't working...
SD Support says a new version of ED will be released later this week-- maybe they will have dealt with this one, but then again, maybe it's just not an option...

They aren't working

I mean ED isn't working with them.
Dang! I hope the Forum Edit functionality comes back soon!

Unfortunately the Microsoft Office products use their own custom file dialog that can not be replaced.

That may be, but ever since I installed Enhanced Dialogs, my MRU file list at the bottom of the Open dialog in Word 2003 is always empty. If I enter, for instance, "mar*.doc", it will display those, but if I go to Open dialog again, I have to retype it. It's not in the dropdown menu.

Yes, I have the same problem here (and *think* that I posted about it elsewhere sometime ago). I have Office 2003 Pro installed and with Enhanced Dialogs installed the MRU list works from one location only: the Start Menu. At every other location (the TaskPane, MRU list at bottom of Open/Save dialogs, etc.) MRU lists are greyed out and empty.

Also, the MRU dropdown in and Enhanced Dialog doesn't work either! What's annoying is that it makes no difference whether or not I have the feature enabled or disabled in Enhanced Dialog options. Bug report to be filed...

I have now completely removed the enhanced dialogs from my system, as far as I can tell, so the only conclusion I can draw is that the skin itself is interfering in some way with the MRU list.

Hi, u say Office can't work with Enhanced Dialog, but in the History there is a tempting note at release 0.89 which says...

Internal work to hopefully be able to force Office dialogs
to work in a future build.

Is this dream a total no-no?

What will Office 2007 bring ? Compatibility or more disappointment?
